New tool thread

....The 9mil gloves were on sale again. Just so everyone knows the 5 mil are absolutely terrible now too they used to be really good but I went through 5 sets replacing pads and rotors yesterday and two sets last time I changed oil too. They are also a different color now too so I don’t recommend the 5 mil anymore the 7 and 9 are still great though.
Is this why the 5mil gloves were recently on sale for $5.99 ?

That’s why I buy the gorilla grip gloves. I won’t cheap out on garbage gloves, sorry
Yeah they used to be really good. The 7mil and 9mil still seem to be great. I like the gorilla grip ones they are good. Fortunately at work they provide us with MicroFlex gloves usually the DiamondGrip or the SafeGrip. I’m just using the Hardy from HF at home they were my go to gloves.

I gifted my M12 inflator to my parents, so I picked up the new M18 inflator from Milwaukee. It is a huge upgrade over the M12, IMO. Small top-up’s on passenger car tires are completed in seconds.

Snap-on Monday today. Got the Streamlight Stylus Pro in blue that I ordered probably about a month ago. They also have a shiny blue as well but me personally I like the more dull flat blue. Picked up a set of Knipex 5 inch Channellock style pliers. Normally not a fan of Knipex but I love pliers lol and commonly ask to borrow this size so now I have these and the Duralast I got Saturday. Snap-on 56oz dead blow. The only one he had. I need dead blows as I ask to borrow those all the time as well. And two bit sockets that I showed a month or so ago from the pawn shop where the bit was broke in both. Got those replaced no problem. Hope he gets some orange dead blows soon though lol.

Snap-on Thursday today. Picked up a Streamlight Stinger. It has two chargers and two batteries with it. In blue of course the best color lol. Then I was excited to see the power blue snap ring pliers 12 piece had arrived. He had that color and red and red is so basic lol so I got blue. They were on sale so that was even better. I walked back in the shop with them and the boss is like man I send you away for 20 minutes and you come back with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff and I was like yeah lol you know I ain’t leaving that truck empty handed. I consider the pliers needs as I’ve never had a good pair and when you deal with snap rings you need a good set. I wanted the 12 piece so I’m prepared for any snap ring. The flashlight is awesome too I know several guys that have it.

Lots of new tools today. Three different stops. First some pliers at Harbor Freight. Quinn 45 degree angle. I don’t have any short angled pliers so now I do. Also got the newly released Bremen vise grips with the deeper more grip bite I guess you’ll call it. Though I am angry they don’t say the brand on them. All of them were like that but the other Bremen pliers all had the name stamped on them. That drives my OCD up the wall. Then some long reach vise grips too. I know the Pittsburgh brand ones suck but I can’t find any other manufacturer of these. If anything lifetime warranty which anyone knows I will use a warranty without hesitation. Not really a need just a must have because I’ve had my eyes on them for years lol. Then a wrench rack for my SAE wrenches at work. I don’t have a rack for those just the metrics. 1/2 impact extensions. Something I have at home but not at work so I got some for work. Then zip ties because you need zip ties. Picked up another orange magnet and a paper towel holder for my work box. Staff said get orange while you can because they are having a really hard time matching that paint still so it maybe going on back order for the long run. There was one magnet and three glove holders and a few paper towel holders and nothing else orange at all.

Second, Black Mamba nitrile gloves. Really thick feeling even though they are only 6 mil still very tough. Used a set today they hold up with diesel very well. Also picked up some cool penetrating oil while there at that place. Going back to get more gloves sometime probably Monday or Tuesday as they are closed on Sunday.

Lastly, some Craftsman sockets I need for my cart. 11mm shallow, 23mm deep and 24mm deep.

^^^^so not having a HF house brand name stamped on a tool sets off your OCD, but what we know is a huge variety of HF, AutoZone, Sears, Lowe's, Home Depot and SnapOn tools does not.

I see.

Seek professional help ;)

Just about every tool I’ve got has a name stamped on it. The only ones that don’t are the really cheap ones. I’m going to email and see if I can get a set with the name or if this is how they are doing them. Can’t stand it lol. Maybe I should of went with the Tekton like I started to in the first place. Lol.

How well do those holders work? Are the magnets strong enough?

None of the ones on AMZ inspire confidence, and I didn't even think to look at HF's offerings.

Considering their fundamental construction, and function, prices seem a bit silly, but if even HF can charge $15 for one, then I guess the market has spoken.

Grip On makes a seemingly endless variety of locking plier types. I have a couple of them. They make some of the Snap On brand pliers.

At the rate you're going when you change jobs you will need a semi to move your tools.

Well I’ve got multiple boxes at work and home lol. This is the most recent setup of my work boxes that I have. I also have added a 3 shelf cart since this picture too. Everyone tells me I’m doing it right cheap boxes and expensive tools lol. At home I have two Craftsman box, US General 5 drawer cart, US General 1 drawer cart and a Stack On toolbox. Not Snap-on, Stack On.
