Those are Trusty Cook, You can find factory blemished hammers on their site for cheap!Tekton Dead Blow Hammer, 13 oz, Made in USA
I’ve been replacing window scrapers on the 240s.
Needed something lighter and more precise than my 3lb dead blow.
Seems you could likely pirate a wheel stud installer for many applications??View attachment 162831
Thrust bearings… note the one with green MB grease by the wrench.
Made my new homemade tool work so well that a 6 & 10 year old could press bushings.
Any tool I’ve made in the past hasn’t had one. How dumb I’ve been!
So everyone needs a thrust bearing in their toolbox if they want to make homemade tools.
I know not of what you speak.Seems you could likely pirate a wheel stud installer for many applications??
There's a couple different sizes but they're not very expensive.I know not of what you speak.
Most of my cars have lug bolts
Now I have to look into these things!
Edit - looks like a nice heavy duty bearing. But mine was much cheaper!
Continued to tinker with the camera a bit more. It's still hard to get past the baffle plate and see anything of substance, but I was able to capture a cam lobe with the 90* angle camera. Looks good, too! Maybe that's to be expected for only a little over 88k miles, and I'll admit that we only see about 1/3 (I'm being generous) of the lobe, but hey. I'll take what I can get lol.Got a gift card to Amazon from work. I guess I could've spent it on some stuff that we need around the house, but that would be too sensible. Instead, I blew it on a new borescope! The responsible decision! I took it for a quick "test drive". Nothing crazy, just down the oil fill cap of my two cars. Ignore the date/time stamps. Haven't updated them yet.

Why do we need OEM tooling? My $50 Actron does the same thing!
95 percent of people will get no further with factory tooling than they will with that actronWhy do we need OEM tooling? My $50 Actron does the same thing!
Sad but true. Most techs just use it as a fancy code reader.95 percent of people will get no further with factory tooling than they will with that actron
The regular dewalt 20 volt shop vac is quite handy, we use it all the time at the shop rather than dig out the full size vacuumForgot about this guy (sans 20V).
I figured instead of using the home cordless, and instead of getting out the small shop vac, this would come in handy. Say vacuuming out an air cleaner box or channels under the trunk lid, anything dirty…

I almost pulled the trigger on a Capri die grinder the other night. They claim 1hp and the price wasn't that bad.View attachment 163551View attachment 163552
Warranty replacement Capri 21mm 3/8 drive deep impact socket. Cracked on a very tight lug nut. They were happy to replace it. Yes I probably should have used my 1/2 for the lugs but I didn’t know how tight they were it was on the first one. So far they have been great about warranty.
I was wondering about their spindle lock versions....how well does that work?I bought the Astro 205QL a few years ago and it has been very good, not much HP but it does what I need it to do with no problems.
