Just bought and cut a new STP S7317ML (Vietnam made) oil filter. It's a recently updated full synthetic filter, supposedly made by Premium Guard (at least, with many parts from Premium Guard). STP Max Life oil filter/Max Performance used to be made by Champion Labs, which is similar to Fram Endurance, Amsoil EAO, etc.

The updated version has internal parts that look very similar to the Carquest EP (full synthetic filter made by Premium Guard). It has an integrated bypass valve, which should prevent the leaf spring leaking issue on some older Champion Labs-made filters. What's interesting is that the filter media does appear to have a black metal wire backing. The filter also has a metal crimped joint. The casing looks like the older version, with a welded nut for removal at the bottom.

Autozone has also updated the pictures and description for the new filters. However, there are still many older-version filters in stock at local AutoZone. Beware if u want to buy the new version.

Valvoline MaxLife is oil

Looks good to me and priced right for sure. I pulled up AZ filters for my 16 Ram 5.7 and my commercial prices are as follows: $2.86 for the blue STP, $5.91 for the STP XL, $12.34 for the MOPAR and $12.99 for the STP Max filter so, I usually use the Mopar filters or STP XL. I am thinking I may go to the STP MAX as it does look better than the Mopar cut opens I have seen. ...then again for under $6 the STP XL is a fine filter for 1/2 the price.

I'll add that later. According to AutoZone's website, it's a silicone gasket. It's black in color and looks the same as shown on their website. Here's the link: https://www.autozone.com/p/stp-maximum-performance-engine-oil-filter-s7317ml/1572357
99.5% at 25 micron and is rated for 20K miles:unsure:
Looks like the same guts as the Carquest Extended Performance full synthetic filter which is also rated at 99% @ 25u and upto 20K miles. Both under PGI.

If it's black silicone, it needs a burn test to verify.

The Carquest Extended Performance with a black base gasket says this on their website:
