just thought i'd share my new push mower - run by B&S 450 series, smooth like a baby's bottom, really quiet too!

oil that went in is Valvoline SG SAE30, and need to change out at 5 hours, then annually.

nothing like a new mower! 18" deck, bar blade cutting system, blows my old one out of the water.

Motor made in the USA and mower assembled in china.
looks simply made but looks durable. paid $246.

going to tear down the old motor just for fun.

Very nice - that's actually a lot cheaper than I though a person in Auz would pay for it.

I like the look of smaller, 'simpler' mowers.....

Nice rig. I've always used the smaller push mowers like yours. Mine is an MTD with a 4HP Briggs, about 8 years old. A little harder to start than when new but runs great. Yours should do just as well

American motor, China assembly, sold in Australia. It truly is a world economy. One thing we all have in common, we all sweat when we mow grass.

+1

especially the in the stinker of a day we're having here.

it performed flawless today... even gave it a hose off because it is new...

Nice mower. It does look very well built for a small, basic mower. Lots of metal, not a lot of plastic. Those engines are very reliable.

Sometimes the carb diaphragms on these engines stick. You can free them up by putting your hand over the carb (air filter off) just as the engine is starting.

Yep, looks like a Briggs pulsa-jet carb on this engine judging by the air cleaner cover. Nice and simple.

Nice and simple, should be reliable and last for years. If it were mine, I'd lose the rear bag and try to make it a mulcher (I hate emptying bags of grass clippings).

I don't understand what a bar blade cutting system is. Does it have something to do with the bar that connects between the front and rear tires on the left side? Are the wheels adjustable on this mower or is that what the bar blade does. I'm lazy and always bought a 22" deck/blade for a pushie (last ones bought were in 1992 & 2000--both still running) cause I figured it was less trips around the yard. Wonder if they make anything bigger than 22" in cheaper push mowers?
