You get more revenue with watch hours. Once you are monetized you want folks watching b/c that's how the ads work - it's exactly like watching TV on the old-school free channels....you had to watch 15 min worth of commercials for a 1 hour program. For example, my channel is close, I have >1K subs at this point but am short on watch hours but should be there by end of year and at that point I'll get revenue from including ads. My videos are all v. short and why it's taking me so long but I'm not trying/care, just an easy way to share info to people online and if I can get $20 for my weekly snacks, well, I deserve it as much as I've helped folks over the years with them. People here really seem to think the YT thing is something nefarious for whatever reason.

actually since youtube is monetized and bitog isn't its more like moving down from the major league to the beer league.
I watch a lot of YT these days, I don't really watch TV at all. I have watched 1 hour long videos...no real difference to me than watching TV like that if I'm entertained/learning/interested in the subject matter. I like the 15 min length, works well but will go longer if it's in my wheelhouse. Heck, a lot of my videos are just 5 min at most. Easy to watch if you are into the subject matter but not great for "public watch hours" I need to monetize.
Junior Lacks Speed 
It requires some thick skin to be on this forum, or endure certain topics. If you like LSJs content that is great, but know how to read between the lines of his content takes a bit of pattern analysis. Royalty Auto is another one who has some disastrous content that folks enjoy on the surface.
The comparisons with Havoline and ST was interesting to me, I just wish I didn’t need to wade through the scattered mind diarrhea.

You'd be surprised in the gaming segment how much money content creators make from ad revenue when video game guide videos with embedded ad plays. Its the reason that encourages them to make fairly long guide videos but not too excessively long to avoid short attention spans. Although video game guides are probably more straight to the point with additional tips and tricks along the whole video span to keep the attention span and viewership. It goes both ways to be fair short or long videos should one be straight to the point or explains the whole process of how its done.

Real world testing is more applicable than dyno runs in a controlled environment followed by UOAs for validation.
