5w30 - SuperTech HM FS $29 or Pennzoil HM $30? (CDN)

5w30 - SuperTech HM FS $29 or Pennzoil HM $30 (CDN)

SuperTech engine oil seems to rarely go on sale so I usually get Kirkland for $20/5 quart but I'm thinking of switching to a High Milage oil. I think this is an easy decision but what do you think?

Didn't costco come out with a HM kirkland like a week or two ago? someone posted about it. Or is it only for the US costco's?. But if I had to choose it'd be ST.

You left out the most important thing.

Oil change interval? Every 5K? 7500K? 10K?

ST is fine for 5-7K IMHO. Doubt any difference at all for a short OCI. Anything else go with the Pennzoil.

Typically around 5-6k but I've been thinking of tuning that up if I can get VRP at a decent price sometime. Usually I change twice a year (spring / fall).
Currently thinking of ST FS 5w40 (0w40 or HM not available in CAN) for summer and ST HM FS 5w30 for winter.

That sounds perfect. Honestly, for a $1, wouldn’t hurt to run the Pennzoil for this next OCI. Less than a cup of coffee these days.

You think the Pennzoil HM, non-synth, non-dexos is worth paying for?... and I do agree it wouldn't hurt.

For an extra $1, sure. Pennzoil HM has always been regarded as one of the better HM semi-Syn blends. Your car won’t blink an eye and may benefit from a stout additive package in the HM oil.

Does Canada get the Pennzoil FS HM (not Platinum) like we get in the states? If so, that is probably about the same price. At least, its the same in my local walmart ($20/5 qts USD).

I was shopping on Walmart.ca and yes they do. It's an extra $10.

Just out of curiosity, I visited Pennzoil.ca and looked at their offerings. They don't sell the non-Platinum FS HM there. Weird.

Ouch! I've never seen ST over $29 CAD before...

Just checked the website and I still see $28.88 for ST FS & HM in 5L jugs.??
