New lakespeed test!!! Havoline 10W-30 Conventional VS Supertech 10W-30 Full Synthetic

Supertech synthetic made slightly more power on the dyno (less friction, lower oil temp) vs Havoline conventional, though it wasn’t uniformly better across the pull. Valvoline VR1 synthetic did the best.

On the flip side super tech synthetic had significantly higher oxidation stability than conventional oil and VR1s oxidation stability degraded rapidly with use because it’s a racing oil and not designed for long term use.
Thanks!

This saddens me. I've been a Havoline advocate since 1989, and you can clearly see this reflected in all of my previous posts as well as my current lubricant choices for my vehicles.
It's synthetic vs conventional so the havoline has the disadvantage right off the bat. And the differences are pretty negligible anyway. Many will argue that they're "in the noise".
This wasn't supposed to compare brands.
Either way I'd rather use a cheap synthetic like supertech than any conventional anyway so it was interesting to hear the comparison anyway even if the differences are very much insignificant.

LSj is a miracleworker turning 5min of information into 30+mins of annoying.

I can watch long videos... Main street auto comes to mind.. but LSj oof. At least its not project farm level oil testing.. I'll give him that. 😬

You dont get any youtube money unless people watch for a certain min. amount of time (8 or 10min?)

Well, when I use up the oil that I am using, I will be going to HPL PCMO 5W-30, no need to take a sample at 5K, I will run it out to 10K and take a sample and get it tested.

Gonna be 2034 or so

Been here what 22 years or something

But yeah Speed likes his own voice big time. Cut the YACK to 15 minutes max
Pablo, have you ever thought since this Speed guy knows so much more about Motor Oil than a certain percentage of BITOG Members, that he would want to join this, Forum?
He could share what he wants to share and debate with members, of course you and a certain few members would always win the Debate on what is discussed. LOL

Fairly certain these days Youtube ad revenue and ad play segments embedded is tried to video length so it make sense for a content creator to make long videos.
From a monetary sense. I suppose. But at what point does that stop making sense - logically, subscriber wise, etc? I mean why not 4 hour vids?

I'm not talking brevity just because, I'm saying get to the point short and sharp. Sum it up man!
