Hey now, I resemble that remark…

Yes I figured out the ADHD before figuring out it was actually "autism spectrum disorder " that includes that other fun stuff like ADHD as well. Once you know it gets easier IMO. I've had it since like 7 years old.We are on a spectrum that is for sure!
Oddly I became ADHD when I retired. But I'm harmless.
I take life in chunks!!
I couldn’t do the entire video. It is like watching an old Pee Wee Herman show….
So the basis of his claim is measured piston ring material?
Wouldn’t the last oil tested have the least material?
So he claims that it’s better oil?
This saddens me. I've been a Havoline advocate since 1989, and you can clearly see this reflected in all of my previous posts as well as my current lubricant choices for my vehicles.
Fairly certain these days Youtube ad revenue and ad play segments embedded is tried to video length so it make sense for a content creator to make long videos.
Folks here complaining about a 30 min YT video, meanwhile will go back/forth for days and days on a multi-'00 response post writing paragraphs of pedantic nonsense here over things that are absolutely ridiculous. Classic.
Yeah they have synthetic blend and full synthetic offerings. His reasoning choosing Havoline is that Chevron manufactures both base oils and additives so the formula has been fully engineered in house vs SuperTech where the manufacturer blends a base oil and a pre engineered additive pack to meet whatever spec they’re going for.Well, does havoline offer synthetic products? Cause that's the takeaway here, synthetic beats conventional even if the conventional is likely top of the line.

As good of a conventional oil as you’re probably going to find vs as basic of a full synthetic as you’re going to find.
I feel like it's the channel BITOG has been asking for but still, many seem turned off by it. Whatever, leave a comment that you think it sucks and don't click the subscribe/smash the likeI like his videos really. I guess part of it is because he's so enthusiastic
100%. There is content like that on YT and it's painful to watch for me.I don’t care that he makes money one wit
I am a red blue person. Give me the details. Now. No extra words. But I get it, it’s a tough line, no one want details of C::C bonds flexing
Sounds like a good power equipment oil. It gets really hot and you're probably only running it 20 to 50 hours.Supertech synthetic made slightly more power on the dyno (less friction, lower oil temp) vs Havoline conventional, though it wasn’t uniformly better across the pull. Valvoline VR1 synthetic did the best.
On the flip side super tech synthetic had significantly higher oxidation stability than conventional oil and VR1s oxidation stability degraded rapidly with use because it’s a racing oil and not designed for long term use.
Spot on. When I was just a youngster, starting out my career, I was taught the importance of getting to the point. When making a presentation, give the meat at the very beginning. Then move on to other important info. Fluff last, for those who may not be as well informed on the subject. Or, you may not give fluff at all, depending on the audience.I don’t care that he makes money one wit

What is his MO?Spot on. When I was just a youngster, starting out my career, I was taught the importance of getting to the point. When making a presentation, give the meat at the very beginning. Any good article or technical paper should be written this way.
I quickly lose interest in an article, when they don't get to the point in the first paragraph or two. And that is how I feel about Lake's videos. I lose interest quite early, and now that I know his mo, I rarely even watch one of his videos unless my BITOG friends recommend one.
I don't know about academics. He did a lot of development with Joe Gibbs Racing on Nascar engines back when they had 900+hp and near 10,000 rpm but still required by rule to run flat tappet (non roller) cams. That was a real challenging test for metallurgy and lubricants. Plus his dad was a lifelong Nascar guy. So he's got my respect as a practical learner. Is he the guy to design the $3.50 (retail) a quart lube to get your production DI turbo 4 banger to 300,000 miles of street use? I'm not sure.Honest question: What are Lake's credentials in Chemistry?
no one is saying those arent better than non-syn.SuperTech for the win. The Boys from Bentonville notch another one. And as I always say, if your upscale neighbors scorn you for using WalMart oil, there's always the same thing with the Costco Kirkland label.
