New Glock 43

I need a 10 round mag for upcoming classes. The 43 only holds 6.

Sold my Shield and Colt 1911 A1 Replica in my policy of shrinking or not growing my collection.
I have an original 1945 Remington 1911 in excellent condition. Don't shoot that one.

I shoot the 26 better than my 43. The 26 comes with 3 mags.

There was a lady in the class that I recently took whose pistol held 7 rounds. The instructor had her load 5 into two magazines since the shots are in groups of fives. It worked pretty well for her while the rest of us loaded 10 or 15 depending on the shot sequence.

Its Remington Rand Inc. Remington ultimately built the best 1911's. They introduced the heat treatment that is used today. I was able to trace the history of mine...who had it, etc. The guy I got it from shot it a lot (bad). And not knowing any better, I put a few hundred rounds through it. There is always a possibility of getting a crack on the frame near the slide stop. It is unlikely with the Rand.

No I already have the 43 and didn't realize til 2 weeks ago I needed 10 rnd mags. Not sorry I bought the 43 at all.

If I had to keep only two of my hand guns, the 28 and 43 would stay and the LCP, LC9s, and Shield would be gone. Getting rid of the LCP would be tough though.

You really didn't need the 10 round mags.... did ya? Here in Michigan we are required to shoot 50 rounds - in no special order. No requirement on magazine size/capacity, that I recall. I even qualified for my CCW/CPL using .22 LR ammo, at only seven yards distance.

Hi Al,

On all .45 1911s there's enough space for a plastic buffer pad to put behind the guide rod, since this is where the slide will bottom-out.

The overall feel as you shoot, won't be much different, but the beating will show on the pad after 300 rnds or so. Stops metal to metal impact.

There's also expensive hydraulic buffers that do the same thing.

Thanks. I just won't shoot it again. Don't enjoy shooting a .45. I sold a nice Colt Commander LW for that reason.

In Pa. You can get a CCW if you don't even know what a handgun is. This is just for future tactical classes.

In VA, you just have to take an online class, print out the certificate, and carry that to the courthouse. It's a joke. They attach the paper and bureaucracy because it brings in $$$$$$$. Otherwise they would issue a carry permit to a paraplegic. Arizona does it best. You can carry either concealed or open without a permit. If you still wish to have one, they'll issue it with the usual paperwork and fees. I have it for the sole reason because it exempts you from that archaic "Insta Check" background check when you buy a gun. That system constantly goes down, (especially on weekends at gun shows), and rejects people who shouldn't be. That alone makes the permit worth it. Also, if you are involved in a self defense shooting and have a permit, law enforcement looks more favorably at you.

I typed CCW/CPL, meaning handgun certificate. Some states call it CCW for firearms..... some CPL.
I meant firearms in my earlier post and do realize no handgun is needed for a CCW in some states, for those states use a different three alphabet designation for firearm certifications. Here in Michigan it's called CPL.

BTW.... I never heard of any state requiring 10-shots at a time in CPL classes, from only one magazine. Here in Michigan, they don;t care if you bring 15-20 magazines for the test. They just want you to pass the target test..... period.
