How to tell if your kid is a bully

Now, if a child plays cops and robbers and wants to be the cop, he/she is a bully. If children play school and one wants to be the teacher, he/she is a bully. If your child doesn't invite everybody to his/her birthday party, he/she is a bully.

This is troubling to me. There are bullies. There is no doubt. This article expands the definition way too broadly.

Darn, I thought the cops were the good guys????

O well, next time I play cops and robbers, my nephew has to be the drug dealing car jacker. . . . .

Are you talking about what the article says, or what the public will perceive from it?

The article says bullies do those things, in addition to other things. It doesn't say anyone who does those things is a bully.

I personally have never met more than a small handful of cops who weren't [censored] [censored] [censored]. Mind you, my dealings with the law enforcement community may have taken place under less-than-social circumstances, but NONE were people that I felt safe with public trust; nor did they grasp the letter or spirit of "serve and protect". There are very, very, very few people that have the moral and intestinal fortitude to truly be given public trust (and a weapon).

The only good man I've ever known who aspired to be a police officer is still looking for his first job. He presently works security.

I suppose, though, that a Detroit cop needs to be a bit more of an arse-whooper than a small town officer. The fella I know trying to become a cop says that it doesn't take long for recruits to gather whether or not they'll spend their careers writing parking tickets and talking to elementary school children, or whether they'll be confronting potentially dangerous people and situations; so may be having bullies dealing with criminals isn't so bad. Better there than talking to elementary school children.

Most cops I know were picked on as a kid, now they have a firearm and enjoy there new lives.

Nothing personal to cops.

I have only been pulled over 2 times. One time the officer was over the top rude and told me I was a " f-ing retard" for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign (at 3am). I was in the wrong, give me a ticket, but I do not pay your salary so you can call me a "retard" (I have been working with people that have Behavior/Mental health issues for 2.5 years)

So I demanded his supervisor come onto location, waited 25 min for her to arrive.

Once the supervisor was there I got a written warning and a "I am sorry" from the officer.

One time this guy in a beat '80s Monte Carlo tried to push his way into nearly stopped traffic in front of me, from the left turn lane at an intersection. All his windows had heavy tint but I could make out that he seemed to be talking on a cell phone.

I didn't let him in. When the light turned green, he drove through the intersection straight at oncoming traffic for several seconds before realizing he wasn't going to get in front of me, and then tucked in behind me.

He then proceeded to chase me for two miles, cut in front of me, and jam his brakes. I got around him and he chased me again, this time down 2 miles of highway to a big offramp that ended at a 6-lane intersection.

I glided through the intersection as the light turned yellow; he blew through it two seconds after it turned red and kept following me.

Turns out he was an unmarked cop, pulled me over with a lot of huffing and puffing and foul language, and almost cited me for screwing up an investigation, driving dangerously, and trying to race him.

Almost.
