The only clown missing is JHZR2. Once he shows up and pops off the douchbag circle-jerk will be complete.

Its okay guys. It's fine.
I'll be good. Don't worry about me.
needless to say, the car is sweet, and whether or not I'll see it for a few months, or a year, it's fine. My parents will watch over it with good hands.
My life, up until Jan of this year has had its ups and downs, this makes me happy, and makes me feel as if I have really accomplished something. I lost 120 lbs to join the Navy, then the recruiters forgot about me. So I talked to the Army Recruiters, got the 19K job for 3 years 20 weeks, with the MGIB attached to my contract.
Once my 3 years, 20 weeks are up, I plan on coming to my hometown, re-enlisting in the National Guard (Florida National Guard offers up to 15k Enlistment Bonus for a 6 year commitment after you serve active duty Army)
Once I do that, I will find a Job, with prior military service, I was thinking a Public Service position (911 Dispatch/etc)
While Utilizing the MGIB to go to school for Law Enforcement OR Fire Science/EMT,
After that is said and done, 6 years or so is up in the Guard, and Ill hopefully be a Firefighter/Police Officer (after utilizing my GI Bill Benefits), I have been looking into the 2 year volunteer service for the Peace Corps, to bolster my life, and make me feel as if I am fully accomplished.

I yearn to serve the American Public/Worldwide everything.
I'll be 23 when my Active Duty is over,
I'd be 29 when my 6 years is up in the Guard, while completing schooling and hopefully becoming a police officer/firefighter
I'd be 31-32 if the peace corp thing goes through.

Who Knows after that? My MOS doesn't deal with intelligence, so the Peace Corp is an excellent possibility.
Maybe I'll come back, have the education to continue on with Firefighting/Police, and serve National Guard again till I am 40?
Not a clue.
I have big dreams, let me be on this one.

You've got a full agenda there. I wish you well. It's good to have goals and stay driven.

You don't want to listen to us crazy old coots anyway. We've already made most of the mistakes you can make.

Was also looking into maybe becoming a Teacher after its all said and done. Again, I yearn to serve the public as much as possible. IDK why, inner drive?

Dude, a warning: too much holiday cheer.

Could possibly go longer in the Army, after my 3 yrs as a 19K, reclassing to 31B, Military Police, for a short contract, then Saving the GI Bill for becoming a teacher in my 30's, and most police/sheriff departments here accept prior Military Police.

Or maybe when I go national guard, picking up a Military Police Position with them? Hmm

Get out - see the world. Your experiences in the next few years will provide way more answers than anyone here. You will answer your own questions and come up with new ones you've never thought of yet.

Sounds like a plan.
You will probably rethink some parts of it and make adjustments along the way as your experience and knowledge base broadens.
At any rate, best of luck with your plans and thanks again for your service.

Congrats on your new ride. It looks great. Thanks for serving our country. I don't care what payments, what interest, how long your loan is. It's none of our business. Maybe there should be a new forum about financial advice -- for those who wish to tell people how to spend their money.

I would not call JHZR2 any names cause he does offer good advice but sometimes he forgets not all people are in the same financial situation he is in (paying a $25,000 vehicle cash).

I agree to pay off *any* loan ASAP.

I take it to be my business to steer our serving people from taken advantage from greedy car dealers.

If OP can reduce monthly payment by $50 or more and shorten the the number of payments from 72 months to 60 months with simple steps then why not ?

I refuse to rain on the new car parade whenever someone posts about their new ride. If I have nothing nice to say, I click the back button and move on.

Who hasn't said anything nice? No one has bashed his ride, almost everyone has given the OP kudos, and others just want to help make it even better for him.... How's that not being nice?

+1. Only one person said anything that was at all snarky (and most of us know who that was.) Some of us wanted to provide helpful information and were simply looking out for the best interests of the OP, whom it appeared was in process of buying his first ever new car.

If he didn't want the input, he could have merely spared the internet community the rundown of his financing details and simply dismissed anyone who inquired.

Exactly.

Post your numbers, you're going to get replies; Good, bad or otherwise.

Well I can't really say anything because I've been there, done that. Anyone who's followed my posts can attest. That being said, I do have something up my sleeve come january/february that I *think* most will approve of, not letting any details slide. But for now, nice car, Chrysler/Fiat did a phenomenal job on it imo.
