I like this new 5 series. The last one was a real Bang up job!

Front end shark nose reminds me of the Maserati Quattroporte.

Going to a single turbo setup vs. the current twin turbo setup in the 535i?

8 speed automatic should be nice!

The best looking 5 series ever, although that's not really saying much, given some of the eyesores they have cranked out in the past.

BMW styling, imo, has always trailed the other european luxury car makers ( except the swedes who also made hideous looking cars ), but they have made tremendous strides. I think Ian Callum's designs are still the best of the european cars, but BMW is now looking pretty good, maybe right behind the Masers in the best of the rest class. I could see myself considering a seven for my wife when her Jag is up for replacement.

But that interior, maybe it looks better in person, but in pictures that dash and console doesn't do anything for me. It will probably look even worse when all the warning lights are lit up as the systems on the car fail.

From the looks, this is one step back from the current design. But in real life it may look better.

Looks like they took a cue from the current E92 coupe's tail light design - I like it. This car looks almost like a 4-dr coupe and not "tall" and boxy like the current 5 style.

I like this version better - the headlights of the current version is way too gimmicky/outlandish to me, as are the rear lights.
This version says "BMW" better than the current style, IMO.

Nice car.
I am not a BMW expert, so sorry in advance if my impressions are false, there are just my impressions:

I kinda see a little bit of the 7 series in the front and the headlights and tail lights make me think of the new 3 series.
Interior is gorgeous.
So, I believe that for the "no body" like me, they hit it right, the 5 being between the 3 and the 7.

I really like the Leds turn signals (they are really bright on the 3), especially in the back: Red lens but light up in Amber, Wooh!!
That is what I am working on for my car.

To each their own I guess. I think E34s and E39s are great looking cars personally. Not so much with the later models, though the new one doesn't look too bad.

Love it.

I should start saving up so I can buy one when they start coming off lease in 2014 or so.

Time for a manual? :)

Although it looks like no manual will be offered on the 528i. Only the 535i and 550i will have the manual option. I guess the manual is a dying breed, especially on a family sedan.

I like it, never cared for the lines of the previous generation. I agree that it appears they have toned down the lines, more like the current 3 series.

That said, it's a tad out of my price range, but I could hit the powerball.

I've been waiting for this and watched it's unveiling by live webcast from Munich yesterday at 8:00 CET.

It'll be on the streets in around June and the M-sport version should be available in September, which is what I'll be waiting for if I can bear to wait.

I've kind of settled on the 535xi, but the 4.4L twin turbo 550 sounds like a beast. Nominally rated at `406 HP. The 335i is currently rated at 300HP but regularly dynos at something like 325 at the wheels. Tells me something about how BMW rates/underestimates their HP.

I like the look of it, and I think I will like it more as years go by. I hated the look of the current e60's and I'm coming around more to it, which makes me think it is going to grow on me every day.

We'll see how it goes this time next year whether one is in my driveway!
