Isn't that a little over the top? You could put water in it, reset the system and it wouldn't know any better. The manufacturers clearly call for certain spec. oils to be used with their vehicles. That is what the olm's are calibrated for. Not Cod Liver Oil.
 
Nope, he called it right! The OLM's do not sample the oil. They are based on mathematical equasions of engine rev's, temps, how long been running, etc.

Some of the OLM's are nothing more than built in trip odometer's over 5k miles, 7500 miles, etc.
 
Is the A1 Super Oil the same as "Extra! Super!" brand oil? Which one is better? A quick search hasn't turned up anything on the A1.
