need opinions on oil-filter combo for my bike

just like i let the data.

5w40 is a great motor oil
its not so great a tranny oil

but then i have found many many motorcycle oils (even have the picture on the bottle to prove it) that dont hold up.

and just so that everyone knows (which the stoners dont seem to)
60wt -> 21.9cst 106.606 susvis
50wt -> 16.3cst 83.1101 susvis
40wt -> 12.5cst 68.2863 susvis
30wt -> 9.3cst 56.7954 susvis
20wt -> 5.6cst 44.5941 susvis

You could run about any 5w-XX or 10w-XX in that bike within those OCI's. No problem even with the cheapest oils and filters. I would not run any 15w-XX's, as there is no reason to. Its not worth the slow start up.


Worst Advice ever. "Any 5w-xx"!? Im sure your bike wont live long if you dump some supertech 5w20 in the bike.

I'd bet any bikes that call for 40 would do just fine on Castrol Power RS Racing 5W40.
