The car currently has 239,500km's on it, oil consumption has not increased considerably in the past 40,000km's. Engine still runs like new, I can wind it out to 5000rpm and it doesn't sound like anything bad is going to happen. It was first run without oil at 120,000km's when Canadian Tire did an oil change and forgot to refill it with oil. My friend who sold me the car drove it around town that day for a while and it kept stalling at idle, eventually they looked under the hood and checked the oil for some reason and there was none in it? Got 5qt's of oil and filled it up and problem solved 
, next time it was a faulty oil filter that leaked all the oil out. Next big problem was when the car went into the ditch in a snowstorm and snow jammed the cooling fan and it overheated on the way home after being towed out, the temp idiot light that comes on at like 260degrees came on and he drove the remaining 2 miles home while coolant was blowing everywhere. Soon after this around 180,000km's it started leaking/burning quite a bit of oil and got run very low a lot of times. This is the history on the engine. I'm going to go past my 5000km oci a little ways and then switch to the 15w40. I know i need to at least change the filter. I will do the one last oil change with the rotella and then keep topping it up from there, and as it gets warmer add straight 50 weight. I would like to see this engine die in the long run, cause just parking it still running perfect is kind of boring lol.
