Actually I was suprised Mobil 1 0w20 had the GM spec. You normally don't consider a 0-20 as spec'd for a GM engine.

Actually I was suprised Mobil 1 0w20 had the GM spec. You normally don't consider a 0-20 as spec'd for a GM engine.
^^ Good to know! ^^ I will probably switching to M1 once my stash is gone.
When it gets THAT cold, time to plug in your block heater. It's really the only solution. I don't care what the specs say, or what 0W oil you have.....time to plug your car in!

Mobil 1 0W-20 has the lowest MRV @ -40 of any oil I know of but that doesn't mean it's the lightest at less extreme temp's.
At temp's down to about -15C the Toyota 0W-20 due to it's 216 VI (KV40 is only 37.38cSt) is the light oil champ; 35% lighter than Mobil 1 at 0C.
