Need a quiet evaporative humidifier

I will eventually go back to a whole-house humidifier, but for time being, I need a quiet floor stander that's not ultrasonic. I tried the Aircare HD special which worked until it stopped working, but only quiet on the lowest fan speed.

I need about 2K' coverage but would like to have it across the room, about 15' away and barely hear it, capacity of 2 gal or more is likely what I'm after.

I'm fine with it being noisy on high, but the lowest settings should barely be a whisper. How are the Vornado models? If I need to use two smaller units, one upstairs and one down that's fine also.

All i put appreciated.

Why no ultrasonic
They tend to leave a residue which are the minerals from the water. I'm not going to use distilled water and even being on a well they leave a residue, the white, powdery residue. Maybe some new models alleviate this but I have never had an issue with evaporative models and they are more effective. Also those particles float in the air.

oh right that 100% makes sense, I use RO water in mine so its not a consideration. about 5cents a gallon but since I change the filters based on time its really "free".
as I never hit the gallons cutoff to change the filters.
City water tastes like it came from clorox toilet.
Best upgrade I have done to my house so far.
put a separate filtered water faucet in the old hole where the sink sprayer was before I moved to a pulldown sprayer faucet style.

Hot water(125f) reads 650 TDS cold water 350-400 RO water 5-35ppm although sometimes you get abit of creep from low use of the water with a permeate pump.

basically this one only plumbed with a permeate pump.
