Just removed one today, 1st OC on Hyundai 2.4L (bought last month).
The filter seems moderate quality. The housing stamp was a little smeared but looked like "Made in Mexico". Anyway, I installed a Hyundai OEM filter (&Pennzoil Platinum 5w30).
I have read that Hyundai recommends OEM, and that some others maybe cause engine noise (on start I assume). This ProSelect been on only a month, 3.5k, and never any noise on start up.
I'll stick to the OEM. Don't recall details on the TSB on other filters.
Although its a short OCI because I wasn't sure upon buying the vehicle, I had to know what filter was being used, and wanted to get a dump of Pennzoil Platinum in there.
Glad to see the media wasn't loaded. No sludge and couldn't see anything in the pleats except wet oil.
Don't whip on me, I'm not a camera, pic, pc dude. Just wanted to try a few pics here (1st time).

Entry level Wix just like the Carquest recently posted I believe. Looks decent, looks like maybe some wide pleating at the back of this one also hard to tell for sure from the pics though. I sure don't see any "failures" that's for sure.

I don't know the efficiency on these low end Wix but even the higher level ones are so so.

As always, thanks for cutting a posting! I appreciate you going to the effort we can never get enough on here.

Filter looks fine to me. Hyundai recommends OCI of 3750 miles for severe use. If you're putting on 3500 miles/month, maybe just buy a case of 12 of the ProSelects from NAPA at $2.29/each with case price and change your oil once/month with the ProSelect oil filters.

I have three more OEM filters and may continue running them.
After this run, I'll probably go to PU (5w30 for summer, 5w-20 otherwise).
90%+ highway so will look at 6-7k OCIs.

Whoever did the change last time (probably dealer service), I couldn't believe how tight the oil drain plug was. I had to hammer repeatedly on the 17mm wrench before it gave and the washer was crushed pretty flat out. Lucky I got new washers along with OEM filters. I had to vise up the bolt head and use vise-grips to work the old washer off.
Then the filter, I could have used another gorilla. I thought I would have to drop the splash shield to get it out of the way then run a screwdriver through it. Took a lot of snap tightening jerks with a strap wrench and end cap tool.
Wasn't fun... fought the drain bolt and filter, have the few scars too. Elbow slam into concrete on a slip wrench got me to get the hammer next.

After this run, will see about cutting open the OEM filter.
