I picked up some 0w20 from the local Toyota dealership for $4.50/liter. Nowhere on the bottle does it say synthetic and parts counter guys says its dino and that all their oil is supplied by Esso.

So is it possible to have a 0w20 dino and for that price do you think this oil is any good?

I dont think you can find a 0W20 in a conventional...more than likely its a synthetic. Maybe worth while to do a VOA to see how good it really is.

I was told Eneos makes Toyota 0w20 for the U.S. No idea about Cananda.

The Toyota dealer I purchased my Highlander from had 0w20 for $3.50 per quart. It said "full synthetic" on the front label.

We are getting ripped off up here. That's the price we would pay for conventional 5w20. Honda wants ~$8/L for 0w20, and the dealer I bought my car from doesn't even stock 0w20 at all. I have yet to check Ford' prices.

Nippon Oil supplies the factory fill 0W-20 to Toyota as well as the Toyota branded aftermarket/genuine oil in quarts.

Nippon Oil also markets the ENEOS brand of 0W-20 Fully-Synthetic engine oil.

Here is the web-site for more info

ENEOS is a brand of Nippon Oil
(i.e. Mobil 1 is a brand of ExxonMobil)

Wow! That is a great price considering the lubricant market recently. Can you confirm if this is what the dealership would charge today?

I was just reading over on tundrasolutions and the general concensus about the Toyota dealer full synthetic 0w20 is that it is Mobil. they use it for the prius and it is in a red bottle. I need to find out how much it is at my local dealer.

skoh:

I'll try and check sometime next week and see if they still have it at that price. If my Highlander used xw20, I'd have snapped it up!

I am 99.9% certain the Toyota factory fill 0W-20 as well as the Toyota genuine fluid 0W-20 is manufactured by Nippon Oil. It may be distributed by an ExxonMobil distributor.

I work for an oil distributor in the lubricant industry.
And we are a Nippon Oil-ENEOS distributor.

Just to clarify, ENEOS is global brand of Nippon Oil.
- just as Mobil 1 is a brand of ExxonMobil.

The 0W-20 is Fully-Synthetic = Group IV (PAO) & Group V (Ester).
