Not for $1,000, but I'm sure you could've found a better option than that. How about a well maintained Maxima instead?
You already own a 1994 J30, and you're going to buy a a 1993 J30? I'm sure you can find a better option than that. How about a well maintained Maxima instead?
Letting it run a CTEK RECOND mode one time because.. why not. Cold out. DOES have a new-ish actual Interstate battery, which is awesome. Let's get a great top-off/deep charge on it (if it even needs it.)
I am happy to have this car.
I didn't see enough reason not to get it.
Let's hope I made the right choice.. I also know I have options.
Covered up the VIN but showed you the cool Inspection Exempt.
What symptom did you have to do the recondition on the battery? How old was it? You realize that it takes the voltage up a good deal higher to equalize cells, causing more voltage-related stress on all your car’s electronics, accelerating gassing in the battery, etc. Charging = fine. Reconditioning, twice? Really?
Really? The car cleaned you out, now you’re buying excessive amounts of who knows what, to chase who knows what? What is this stuff? Proper PEA cleaner, or some no name solvent? What issue are you trying to chase? The car doesn’t need inspection, so a CEL isn’t an issue for getting a sticker. It does matter if the engine isn’t running right, so you don’t ruin it.
How about this: 1) stop the bleeding, cease repairs on the Subaru, pay the mechanic and have it towed to scrap for 13c/lb. 2) return all but one can of cleaner you just got to save $ 3) facilitate repairs on lugs of Taurus for safety 4) slowly address Infiniti as money allows. Buy a NJ Transit pass and don’t drive it if there are issues, so you don’t damage it before you get any outstanding issues fixed.
beside Altima from the same area it reminds me of Lexus SC at the same timeThose are nice, always wanted to try one. Quirky rear end like early 80's Seville's.
Fix your signature then.No... I am not sure where 94 J30 came from, and I apologize if maybe I mistyped once, if I did.
I own one J30 and it is a 1993
The Mark IV is one of my all time favorite cars.Doesn't do much for me but what ever floats your boat. Speaking of boats I was likely one of the few who bought a Lincoln Mark IV with a 460ci 4bbl in the '90's. As a teenager I always loved the old T-Bird and Mark IV so years later when I got the chance to get one in decent shape at a decent price it went home with me. Man that thing had a terrible drinking problem (gasoline).
When I was a young LT, we ended up buying my Wife's grandmother's car. A 1970 Ford Fairlane. Bit of a story in that...Good for you,,,if it runs, and gets you to work,,,that will do,,,its not like your gonna keep for another 10 years,, good luck,,,our 1st car was a 67 Beetle,,,lol,,we were teased to death over it, but we drove 7 years,,,lol,,never a problem,,you most likely will own many cars,,when you do buy a new one post it here and dont forget,,,,say you all remember me,,,lol

But, BLUF: $250 for purchase (in 1990), sold it for $100 five years later when terminal rust struck the frame.
Hard to beat that kind of depreciation performance.
The car was a daily driver, no AC, no power steering (yep, not a lot of belts on that 302 V-8), and was "Ivy Green". I took a ton of heat over it. Young fighter pilot, with a 25 year old "puke green" Ford Station Wagon.
A ton of heat.
That said, it worked perfectly for my needs at the time. Park it by the sea wall in Norfolk in the sailor's lot - no worrying about seagull droppings, paint overspray, or theft. Take it to Home Depot and load up the supplies. Loan it out to buddies who were in town TDY, not one complained about the color or options, they were happy to have wheels.
It wasn't cool, stylish, or expensive. But it ran, and served us well. And the low cost of ownership served us well, too. I took what the car payment would have been, and invested it. Money invested in 1990-1995 has grown considerably...
First thing I would do is clean/detail the engine bay and install one of these:

Its a last resort.I had always thought Reconditioning mode wouldn't hurt a battery. If I was wrong.. it did not get to Stage 6 yet so I can just turn it off.
The first was on the other battery; not "twice" on same.
Products shown were for Subaru. Had P0420. For gradually application...
Its a last resort.
If you are ever going to do it again - disconnect it from the cars electronics.
My fav chargers sense the battery is connected and will not allow the charger to go into recon.
Yep,it's the plastic panel that covers the throttle cables in the center of the plenum.I think it already has one of thoseunless you are talking about the cover lol.
Thinking of making a thread OF PHOTOS in the Photo section ? Would rather ask than stir up angst..
How about you create ONE thread, probably in the mechanical/maintenance area, and discuss the car and its needs. Does it have any CEL? How many miles? What records do you have with it?I think it already has one of thoseunless you are talking about the cover lol.
