Who knows why Pablo's range has their rules. Maybe just because everyone else does or maybe they DO want to sell more ammo. Only they know.

Typical armor piercing cores are hardened steel. There are plenty of people at my local ranges that shoot armor piercing rounds even though it's against the rules. The range is outside and doesn't have a rangemaster to check people's ammo. We had some armor pop up targets and the idiots shot 'em up with armor piercing rounds within a couple of weeks. This was BR500 1/2" thick armor and it was shot up like swiss cheese.

Hmm. The local indoor range told me that they do not allow steel casings because they recycle the brass casings. They did not check the bullets. I shoot Makarov 9x18 which have steel cores.

Fortunately, my uncle has some wooded areas where we can shoot whatever we want, whenever we want.

Re: armor piercing stuff: We're talking about pistol rounds here, not rifle rounds. There aren't a lot of armor piercing pistol rounds any more.

My apologies. Didn't see that it was a pistol only range. Must have missed it just like I missed the post about the sand backstop.

I'll just keep my "opinions" to myself...

I have to agree with what others have said about indoor ranges. I'm just not comfortable in them unless I'm alone. You never know what the idiot next to you is gonna do.

There have been a number of suicides and at least one murder-suicide in the last couple of years here at indoor ranges here in Central Florida.

The counter guys around are truly some the biggest posers I have ever seen as well.
