For those of you that are considering a nice little pistol to add to their collection, might I suggest the CZ82? This is a fine C&R eligible handgun that fires the 9x18 Makarov round.

I recently purchased one from AIM Surplus for $229. It came with two mags and a holster. The gun looks like it's never been used. After a very thorough cleaning, I put about 200 rounds downrange. The recoil is very manageable and the gun is a tack-driver. I was using very inexpensive Brown Bear FMJ that I got for $9 per 50 at Cheaper Than Dirt.

I'm not sure if this will be my go to defensive gun (I've ordered a bunch of HP ammo to test), but it's an absolute winner for fun range time that's for certain.

I love the Makarov pistol, I have a East German one that is super nice and a Russian one, that is just run of the mill. I carry it alot as a defensive gun, its nice, accurate, and super dependable. I simply do not get the sudden infactuation with the .380 when the Makarov is around. The Makarov is about the best kept secret, I suppose, because everyone keeps buying .380s and ammo is out through the yingyang and Makarov ammo is still pretty cheap, its much more avaiable now then it used to be.

Yes sir. I got the hand-picked gun for an extra $10. Personally, I like a gun in nice shape and that's just what I received. It barely looks used at all.

I just put another 100 rounds through it earlier today, this time using Silver Bear JHP's. They cycled perfectly without any failures.

This gun may just be my new favorite.

I have a CZ-82 and I like it a lot. Mine was surplus and used - there were some scratches on the painted surface of the slide from the holster. So far it's been very reliable and feeds well. The recoil is quite manageable for a 9x18 round.

That's my main defense weapon at home. It's a little bulky for a carry but I have a Walther PPK for that.

I now have several hours of range time with this gun and almost 1000 rounds downrange.

All I can say is that I have had no failures using inexpensive FMJ's or HP's. The accuracy and reliability of this gun is simply amazing. Rapid fire, double taps, limp wristing, lack of cleaning, nothing seems to stop this gun.

I'm hoping to get another one at a gun show soon.
