Musk Says Tesla ‘Dug Our Own Grave’ With The Cybertruck

TSLA, like almost major technology providers have or are surely moving to a mandatory monthly subscription or the like to use their products and or services. TSLA is a technology company and will be following suit.
I pay $9 monthly now for the optional, more advanced GPS, music streaming and whatever else. Will there be more options and/or mandatory subscription based functionality going forward? Could be. My Microsoft Office 365 subscription is an example and I find it great as I can access my information from multiple devices and it is automatically backed up.

Aren't you assuming that subscriptions are necessarily bad? If customers don't like a product, they can hopefully change to another.

Respectfully, I'm still struggling with your point. In my experience, and I believe yours, tech is an enabler. If it isn't beneficial, is likely to be replaced with something better or simply die. And everything has a product life cycle, so there's that.

Exactly and is hired by the other 87%
CEO's dont stay forever, he has many interests. Im not at all knocking him but he has a full plate.
He was also forcibly replaced/fired by PayPal in 2020. Repeat, Im not knocking the guy, he has so many projects and interests. To me Tesla is moving too slow introducing new models. They no longer need him is my opinion. He was the creator and being a creator, I suspect he or the board might want to move on from there.

"The Elon Musk PayPal story ended shortly after, much to Elon’s disappointment. In September 2000, as he boarded a flight for a delayed honeymoon with his first wife Justine, X.com executives staged a coup to replace Musk as CEO. Vance explains that when he heard this news, Musk took the next flight home to change their minds, but they stood by the decision. He stayed with the company as an advisor and an investor. Soon afterward, they renamed X.com to PayPal.

By July 2001, Musk’s influence at PayPal was fading, and he began to search for his next business venture. In July 2002, PayPal accepted a $1.5 billion offer from eBay. Musk made $250 million from the deal.

(Shortform note: In 2015, PayPal separated from eBay, allowing both companies to focus on their respective growth. PayPal later launched a peer-to-peer payment option, encouraging a trend toward digital payments.)

Like with Zip2, Musk left the venture with millions of dollars. Vance believes he also had a better understanding of how companies work and experience as a CEO. Through the Elon Musk PayPal story, he’d once again proven that he could bring an innovative idea to life."

BTW- to Musk credit, PayPal might have been better off if they stayed with him. Maybe it's just me but I dont see a need for them.
One thing is certain, he loves that "X" I had no idea that was the name of a company 23 years ago or more.
Correction to my own post 2020 should read 2000

265 miles range remaining at ~90%?

I am excited to see this thing become a reality. Finally. I do think the truck lends itself to cosmetic alterations and that should be really interesting. Good times!

I see what they mean. Panel gap on drive side front is pretty bad.
Thedrive just posted an article with a Cybertruck that was in a Tesla showroom. Employees were told to not open the truck up. The writer mentioned that while "not as bad as previous versions "the showroom truck was considered "production ready " by employees. Not a gold sign. It saddens me that Musketeers are such buffoons and would buy this hot garbage.

The Jeffrey Epstein comparison was a cheap shot. And saying he "acts like a lunatic" is so hyperbolic as to not require any defense of his past actions.

I actually admire Elon's frequent lack of a "filter". He says what a great many people are thinking and has so much money that even if there are negative consequences, he doesn't care. I'd be even worse if I were among the top 5 richest people in the world.

The first 10 Cybertrucks are going to Tesla employees and will undoubtedly be pre-production samples with a lot of hand fitting and attention to details. Let's see how they look when Cybertruck number 500 is in the hands of the person who ordered it way back when. I'm betting that it will be just as good if not better than any other $75k pickup truck. What else do you expect ?
A company that wants a sane individual to actually show up and not throw out stupid rules or constantly making up stuff as they go along. Musks hypocrite attitude is one of my big turn offs. He wants to end subsidies but rakes them in, he wants free speech but blocks people who criticize him, he criticizes other ceos but when they throw it back at him he cries like a 5 year old, and on and on.

You basically summed up the conservative mindset LOL.

You're going to get a three paragraph response to this on why you're wrong and how much money Elon Musk has, in comparison to you. :ROFLMAO:

He may say that he's for ending subsidies, but he has advocated for taxing carbon as recently as a couple years ago.

I've been invited to the Cybertruck Livestream Watch Party. I have no idea why and ain't going, unless the food is good.

Of course, Tesla rakes in big bucks selling carbon credits.

I like Musk's comments to the advertisers that are fleeing Twitter, sounds like a real genius to me! /s

With the cybertruck this late in the game it needed to have specs that were significantly better than current electric offerings. He cut the tow rating by 3,000 pounds and the bed rating by 1,000 pounds.

What may start to worry them, however, is the stainless steel finish maintenance, despite popular opinion that it shouldn't require much of that. There is a dedicated Cyber Shield stainless steel cleaner that Tesla developed with detailing giant Auto Renu, for instance, and the showroom reps keep polishing the Cybertruck with it many times a day, according to several observations.

It is made by Auto Renu (https://autorenu.com) , and the bottle states that "Cyber Shield is a cutting edge cleaner and protective solution that redefines the way you care for the exterior stainless surfaces of the Cybertruck"

How do you redefine something that has yet to be defined, or even sold?

Agree 100 percent but remember he's on the spectrum (Autism) so he's generally given a pass aka Elon being Elon. His disability means that he fails to fully grasp how dangerous his actions can be. He acts like a pendulant child and his fans love him for it. Tells you a lot of about the mental maturity of his fans.

I think you meant "petulant child".

I found his recent interview to be hilarious, especially when he told the advertisers to go eff themselves. I would have said the same thing.
Some of you guys are way too triggered by his words and actions. Sure, he's on the autism spectrum. So what ? Be glad that he's not an elected official. Those are the ones who are dangerous when they lack common sense or worse, take actions to force society to adhere to their vision. Don't like Elon or EV's ? Don't buy one. And vote against the bullies who pass legislation to mandate EV's. And have been involved in manipulating public opinion through collusion and censorship with the social media companies.

By the way my mental maturity is quite advanced thank you.

Yes I did. Fat finger error. Anyways, the problem with Musk is that his responses have influence and provide validation for opinions which are devoid of facts. His comments give cover for Individuals who aspire for public office and also hold those same opinions. He is becoming a liability.
