What are the pitfalls, if any, in using a multifit wheel drilled with two bolt patterns, and the appropriate hubcentric rings? I placed a conditional offer on a new vehicle set to arrive here in early January, so I am looking at wheel options for my winter tires. I've already decided on the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 for my rubber.

Other than possibly being very cheap, nothing. If you have all the right specs and, if needed, rings it should be fine.

I prefer to find OEM wheels if possible since they are usually better made.

None. I have dual bolt-pattern wheels for my Cruze's winter set. They work just fine with the hubcentric rings.

Make sure the offset is similar to the OEM wheels, or the tires may rub on suspension or body parts.

Okay, good to hear. These would be from Costco online, and my experience with them is they normally have good quality products and stand behind what they sell.

Aesthetics aside, dual-bolt pattern wheels (if properly drilled that is to the center of the wheel) are just as safe as a single bolt pattern wheel. One could say that the extra material not there by means of the additional holes drilled for the other bolt pattern could lead to point of stress and possibly compromise the strength of the wheel where the lug seats are, but for all practical purposes, the wheel should hold up the same as a single drilled pattern.

I personally don't like the look of dual bolt pattern wheels. Some look very good, but I feel would look a ton better in a single drilled pattern.

From an aesthetic standpoint, this particular set has centre caps over all the bolt holes.
