Years ago I bought nearly everything at Parts America. Good stuff, good prices, and they stood behind stuff. Well AAP bought them out and never seemed a good. I blamed some of the reoccuring problems with my 92 Grand Am on their parts.

Recently the muffler fell off my truck. Well AAP didn't have anything to fit anymore. They did give me something I could make work. Next, my alternator went flaky, the brushes and commutator were badly worn and maybe too much end play. Picked up a new one for free tonight, no questions asked. The kid at the counter doesn't see many 8 year old receipts.

I am pleased.

I got Advance to warranty a 5-year-old radiator on my Mustang GT without a receipt. I had to call the store where I bought it a couple of times, I had to call corporate a couple of times, and then I finally got a call from the store where I bought it (40 miles away) telling me that I could return it to the store here.

What was wrong with a 5-year-old radiator, you ask? The fins were completely rotted away and it was leaking. Copper/brass radiator.

The replacement is aluminum because copper/brass is too expensive.

off topic, kind of.

I dug out a 10 year old receipt for my tint that was starting to peel in the corners slightly. They said lifetime warranty.

Keep that thermal paper cool and dark.

My record for receipt keeping was a 6 year old tie rod end with 65k miles. Upgraded from a $27 no-name to a $61 moog as it was the only lifetime warranty replacement they stocked.

Robber, aiming a gun at Jack Benny: "Yore money or yore life!"
Benny (after a long pause; he was after all, the master of timing): "I'm thinking, I'm thinking!"
