When the dust settles, the Fram PH series filter has more good going on with it than many others right now.Now the OCOD is the safest choice?! What in the world!

What do you think about the Toughguard right now? Assuming it is priced right. When the dust settles, the Fram PH series filter has more good going on with it than many others right now.
They are high efficiency and high capacity rated by Fram, and show little to no problems in the C&Ps done here. They have fiber end caps, which will help seal the leaf spring, unlike seen on some leaf springs on metal end caps. What do you think about the Toughguard right now? Assuming it is priced right.

The lucky pieces get to pan and freedom. The others are still trying to get out.A few here have shown otherwise finding filter glue in the oil pan. The pieces can and do go through the bypass valve.
Or clogging up the VVT oil feed screens and causing VVT problems. The lucky pieces get to pan and freedom. The others are still trying to get out.
I have questions regarding the second pic in the OP. Did the endcap(s) fall off by themselves when cut open and the oval area is what you found? Or was that endcap attached, then pulled apart from the potting and the pic shows what was found?
Okay, thanks for the reply. And the serrated looking edge shown on the potting was what you saw after it fell off? Nothing in the endcap itself? I ask because normally when and endcap falls off, and the potting intact and smooth, the flat spring enough for it to not be a bypass issue. That aside, the material finding (potting?) in the media, not good. In the past, the 910S one of the better Motorcraft oil filters. As can be seen this forum, things can change in oil filter quality rather quickly.Good observation.
The endcap fell off. My process was simply to cut open the cannister and dump out the contents.

Mostly was interested in pic 2, endcap off and the potting visual. 'I' would say the potting itself being brittle not an unusual finding. As noted, as long as intact inside endcap, shouldn't be an issue in use. That said, all things considered understandable to not have confidence in 910S going forward. Thanks for clarification....The second photo, the "chips" off the plastic were caused by gently pressingly on the edge with my finger. Very brittle is the best description I can give that.
They do look good, Stude, but I won't even consider a made in China filter. The Premium Guard/CARQUEST Premium is safest filter out there now!
I couldn't recommend someone use the current FL910s in good conscience. That being said, the dealerships are installing thousands a day and no one is the wiser.I have a bunch of these for the sienna. Would it be best to throw them out? I have been using Fram on the Mazda. Would a Fram be better for the Sienna? ****.
