I'd run the Ultra multiple changes, I do it myself. Last one I ran 3 changes for about 14k miles

So, I cut an unused Motorcraft. This one has wide pleat spacings as well as rust. There is a good possibility a tear will occur at the wide pleat spacings.

Recent FL820S failure

Lots of filters in this one.

I am not sure that a reliable filter exists for less than $4 for the OCI / OFI all of you want to run.

Filters can vary based on the model number too. The Fram filters like the 3600,3387,3980 always have lots of media even in Orange can form.

901Memphis - This is true.

It should be pointed out that not all Motorcraft oil filter part numbers are bad and some deliver excellent results. The FL820S happens to be a problem. The same is likely true for Purolator and made by Purolator filters.

There have been posts of seriously abused Fram filters and they went the distance.

If this is the case a TG3600 would be more than sufficient for a 5K OCI. 99% efficiency in a filter rated for up to 10K OCI for just over $5

The confidence with Purolator produces has been going down hill since about 2 years ago when stuff like this kept popping up almost daily.

Yes the TG 3600 always looks good when cut open, it has lots of media and usually pretty straight too.
