I found that flash point (NOACK) and HTHS are worse with high VI oils compared to mono grades for example.
That's the way I've been going. I want a thin (KV) A3/B4 oil, with good Noack ( MB229.5). Add to that a decent price and good user reviews (noise related) and I'm good to go. I ended up with a 0w30 but that's because 10w30 isn't readily available, SAE 30 isn't good for winter, and no 5w30 really fitted the bill, or outperformed the 0w30 in the metrics above.
