Fresh Motor, What Oil?

There's a school of thought that says synthetic is best avoided until the rings are properly seated. In practice as long as you work the engine with some hard pulls and engine braking once warmed up I don't think oil choice matters much.

Honda FF seems to have extra moly from the assembly lube and states to keep the FF in for the full oci. Seems they want the moly in there to reduce the chance of cylinder wall glazing.

All of that said, even though I don't think that dino vs syn matters, I'd use what your builder recommended. That way if something breaks you can say you did what he told you to do.

VR1 is a very good oil in both flavors also
