We have all had mice in our OPE and maybe cars. But a service guy was working on my range and he found peanut shells between the bottom of the burners and top of the oven. Some of the peanut shells were blackened. In this case only 4 or 5 peanut shells. But if they had made a nest there out of cloth or straw during a oven cleaning it could catch on fire.
Need to alert my cat to this, although it could have been before I owned the house.
