More mouse stories

We have all had mice in our OPE and maybe cars. But a service guy was working on my range and he found peanut shells between the bottom of the burners and top of the oven. Some of the peanut shells were blackened. In this case only 4 or 5 peanut shells. But if they had made a nest there out of cloth or straw during a oven cleaning it could catch on fire.

Need to alert my cat to this, although it could have been before I owned the house.

Makes you wonder what else is going on in one's house regarding critters!

My Caravan sits outdoors 24/7. This winter when I removed the instrument cluster to replace some light bulbs, I found the beginnings of a kleenex mouse nest about the size of a softball inside my dashboard. I don't think the attempt was long lived, as I found hardly any droppings. It took about a half hour of prodding with a coat hanger combined with a modified shop vac nozzle to get it cleaned up. Another 1/2 hour job that turned into several hours.

Still, it surprised me that they would take up residence there when our warm house is just a few feet away.

We live on about 40 acres of woods/pond and in the fall when it starts to get cold the mice target our house something fierce. I just cleaned one petrified example out of our A/C condenser when I was cleaning out the coils. They get in the cars, the house, everywhere. Mice per se don't bother me, I kind of like them as pets but the wild ones here border on ridiculous.

And then there was the guy out in Oregon who got the plague.

I would not take anything from the mouth of a stray cat. Thats a pretty dumb thing to do. Not sure I would take anything from one of my own cat's mouth. A stray could have rabies or the plague.

Now I would take something from one of my (not a stray) dogs mouth. And a Mastiff has a HUGE mouth.
