Mobil Full Synthetic?

Where's the Popcorn Eating Smilie?
All I could find is a sandwich and cookie smileys

I am on a diet and this thread is becoming interesting.
It's your turn again Al!

BJ's club has it from time to time, but price has never been low enough for me to buy it.

I did use this one time (2020 maybe?) When Target had 5 quarts in clearance for $3 each. So, got an oil change for $15. Not too bad.

Right now, Bj's has a 6 pack for $30.49. Not appetizing at all to me:

There is an issue of price reliability here. Let's say you are looking for a Dexos 0W20 five quart container, and you want to focus on a few brands. Kirkland will always, always, sell you five quarts for about $20. Quaker State is always on deck for between $21-23. Sometimes you might be fortunate to hit a sale, and beat these prices. Now, looking at this Mobil product, Castrol GTX, Pennzoil, you can't say where you are going to be on any given day within a $22-$32 window. That's the reason I would not buy this Mobil product with any regularity. Just to be clear, I am making my decisions based on whatever Amazon and to a lesser extent Walmart are saying. On Kirkland, I only buy the stuff on those excellent (two) times a year where it drops to $15 and pennies for five quarts, in their two-jug package. Not that you are asking, but I am doing well buying Ecogard filters on Amazon at $2.75 a piece. Nobody is really competing!

I agree with you. The Ecogard and PG filters are great for 5K OCI. We don't have a COSTCO near us, yet (They're building one 2-1/2 miles from my house, but won't be done until 2025.) I will be grabbing the Kirkland oil for $15 when I can.

Please explain, with facts please.
If marketing is taken into consideration, ST Extended is a 20K* mi oil, ST Full Synthetic is a 10K* mi oil. Not so with the Mobil FS. Other than that, they all have the same specifications and licensing, i.e., API SP / ILSAC GF-6 and dexos1Gen3. BTW Pennzoil Full Synthetic lacks dexos1Gen3 license. Plus, formulations change more often than we may be aware of so it all comes down to trust, PQIA, PDS on their websites and more trust.

It is a still Mobil oil just does not have the add pack of Mobil 1.
Interesting fact I noticed. Look at the pictures below. I believe Toyota Full synthetic oil is the Mobil Full Synthetic. Identical bottles. Locally in Kentucky I can find Mobil Full Synthetic at Meijer stores.

Personally I like Castrol or Valvoline.
Considering Royal Purple in my next car.
