Do you really think that they beat out Kirkland synthetic for best bang for the buck? When Costco puts it on sale for $15 a jug that is the best bang for the buck in my opinion.
1. Not everyone has access to a Costco. (My nearest Costco is 15 miles away in a VERY heavy traffic area=Not convenient) and having to deal with the large shopping crowds as well
2. You need to pay for membership to shop at Costco
3. The $15 per jug of Kirkland synthetic is not a "year round everyday price"
BUT!! For those who don't mind these things, Then YES the Kirkland $15 special is a GOOD DEAL!!!

Those are all good points, I guess I forget those things since access to a Costco location is so easy for me. In fact as Iām typing this at my girlfriendsās place I am exactly 0.6 of a mile away from one
The membership fee for me isnāt a big deal because I save hundreds of dollars a year on gas for my Civic at Costco. The price there is quite often 10 cents a liter less than everyone else. (I wonāt use Costco in the Vette because it needs 93 octane and our Costcos here only have 91)

Nice!!! Only thing valid for me is there food court hot dogs/pizza but last I heard its getting harder to go inside without showing your club card??
Luckily, I don't need any membership fuel since my local WM fuel and Murphy USA gas is $2.47 a gallon down the road from me
BUT!! I do have Walmart + (save .10 cents a gallon on fuel, First dibs on "Deals for days" Black Friday, Free Road hazard on new Tires, Free shipping on the NEXT WM.com oil pricing error and Paramount+ included)
The Costcos that I go to have all gotten those card scanners at the front entrance recently but you can still get in through the exit area and go to the pharmacy or the food court and neither of those require a membership card at this point. (I have heard that may change) I grab a Costco dog at least once a week. Up here in Canada itās the same $1.50 (including a drink) but that works out to only $1.09 US at the current exchange rate so we have the best deal in the world
I was all set to grab Kirkland synthetic for my Civic earlier this year and was just waiting for the next sale opportunity but before that happened I changed course and decided to go with QSUP instead and then after that I jumped on the VRP bandwagon.
Interesting thread. The original idea was one of righteous confusion about Mobil oil brand naming. That worked its way to the conclusion that Kirkland oil is the best ābang for the buck.ā I agree, and would add that in the real world, where oil changes happen in less than 10,000 miles, for most folks, Kirkland gives no ground to Mobil, especially at $15/jug.
