Any new people out there who have used this stuff yet. Any new UOA's. I'm using it in one of my vehicles right now. I did notice that after pouring into the crank case, it looks to be as clean/clear as Vavloline, GTX, and Havoline.... LOL..hope the name Clean in the name lives up to its title.
I've seen one or two UOA's that seem to show it to be a good oil. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I like Mobil's R & D department and can't seem to imagine why they would unleash junk on the public enen though they have to make money as does any other company.
 
"Clean" is just a marketing term. It doesn't clean your engine any better than any other conventional oil on the market today.

IMO, it's nothing to get warm & fuzzy about. To me, Mobil's "Clean" oils are average at best, with above-average marketing.
 
I'm still not sold that Mobil improved their Drive Clean oils & are charging more for it. I will continue to prefer the Havoline & GTX until more Clean 5000 UOAs arrive.
 
I'm using it. I also have Exxon Superflow and they smell different (I only did this because of the claim they are the same). So I'm not convinced (that they are the same).
 
I see on Mobil's website that the Clean 5000 in 5W30 and 10W30 meet: "The Requirements for Diesel-Powered Vehicles where API CF or API CD is Recommended". How many other dino oils in the $1.50-$2.50 range can say that (not including 15W40s)?
 
TropArtic in the 10W-30 viscosity meets API CD. Dunno whether it's also true of the 5W-30 viscosity. To the poster who noted an odor difference between Mobil Clean and Exxon Superflow, your conclusion may or may not be justified. All blenders make running changes in the additive packs due to differences in the base oil runs after refining. I'm sure you've read it before: "Due to changes or innovation improvements, there may be changes in odor or appearance periodically." or some such wording. The two "identical" ExxonMobil products you compared may've simply been from different production runs.
 
So those of you who think the Mobil Clean 5000 is just a bunch of marketing hype, isn't this stuff at least a bit better than the Valvoline and Castrol dino? I mean really, as stated previously, the stuff is rated for diesel as well. come on!
 
From what I've read here, go ahead and spend a little extra for the Mobil 7500. It is suppose to have a much better pack and worth the modest increase in cost.
 
grbr95, Better than Vavlo? Don't know. Better than Castrol dino, no way. I'm not much a fan of Castrol as a company, but their dino offerings do outlast many other competitors, save for Pennzoil and Havoline/Chevron.

Anyone else have any good/bad reports on the Mobil Clean 5000 din?
I just can't begin to image a company as big as Exxon/Mobil putting out some crap din.
 
It's warrantied for 5000 miles.

That's my point. Exxon/Mobil warranties this stuff. So why in ***'s name would this stuff be no good according to some people? Why would a multi billions dollars put their name on a bottle, warrantie, spend millions testing this stuff, etc, so on and so forth.
Yes they are in business to make money, but they can't make money unless they make a good product.
I don't see Havoline, Castrol or any other dino with big enough ba!!s to make a product and warrantie it for 5000. Not that the others can't go that far, but Mobil backs it up.
If you ask me, I'd go with Mobil conventional before any other.
 
You can't argue with a API certified "gas engine oil" that is also robust enough to be a "diesel engine oil". Folks, that in and of itself speaks volumes about the "seriousness" of this oil. All for less than $2 a quart on top of that. And yeah, I'm using it in my Jeep 4.0. I previously used nothing but Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40 in this engine, but never again since I started using the Clean 5000 10W30.

I'll tell you, I'm sure Havoline, Castrol and all the others are good insofar as they will do what they are suppose to do, even behound 3k, but until I see them make it an SM/CF rated oil and GUARANTEE it for 5000 miles...then Mobil Clean 5000 can be purchase for just a tiny TINY but more. Besides, price really has nothing to do with it.
As I said, I doubt very serioulsy that Mobil would back this stuff up with name, money and a guarantee to top it off if it weren't legit.
 
Is it warrantied for 5000 miles in a diesel application? Seems like a do-able winter light diesel application for cheapies, but for 5k?
 
I'm using it just because I have some here. I also have a lot of other oils to use up. I did not like the old Drive Clean oils, they burned up fast. I've alredy used the new ones a few times, and they seem improved in that respect. If all we really go on is specs, the diesel-rating and warranty tell us it's a hit.
