Mobil Clean 5000, 10W30, 4,502 miles, Toyota Sequioa

Here's another uneventful UOA. Went dino this time so utilized a shorter ODI. Although the report indicates that I used M1, the actual fill was Mobil Clean 5000, 10W30. The sodium had me going until I did a search and realized that Mobil Clean shows a ton of it.

This interval was half that of the previous, so I expected to see wear numbers of about half as well... but they're even lower. I like what I see.

I've got M1 back in there for another 9K run, and I'm considering M Clean 7500 thereafter. Haven't looked at many other UOAs... how long of an interval do you oilheads (stated with respect) think the MC 7500 is good for?

Glad to see the Mobil5000 do so well! The Mobil5000 = Exxon Superflo debate gets batted around here often. I'm running a batch of Superflo 10w-30 and will do my first analysis at 3K miles and see what happens. My car only has 38,000 miles on it, so i'm hoping for decent results.

Truly awesome report! Fe of .5ppm/1kmi in a V-8? If GC or Redline had put up these numbers there would be 75 replies saying, "This is the greatest oil ever!", but since the oil is a cheap dino, this report will be mostly overlooked.

Wow, suddenly I'm a fan of Toyota 4.7L V8's.

Hopefully I can show the 0 ppm of Copper and 2 ppm of iron results to my GM 5.3L engine & try to get the dang thing inspired!

Thus, this is really an inaccurate measurement of the oil's ability.

Toyota engines, but this engine in particular, will show SUPER good wear values regardless of the oil used.

Its hard to judge the oil with this report.

Hi everyone... we already knew that this engine produces exellent UOA reports regardless of the oil used... so no surprises here. But why is everyone ignoring my question...

"... how long of an interval do you think the MC 7500 is good for?"

Or is it by ignoring the question, the board's way or saying "do a search"?

And there're still people around here questioning the protection SM oils provide because of their reduced phosphorous levels... Another 500 miles probably wouldn't have brought the TBN below 2.0. EM's entry level engine lube is a very good oil.

Excellent report. Thanks for posting. Got 3 cases of this & should've picked up more with the last sale/rebate at Advanced Auto. I was a bit leary when I first used it though. This stuff smells more like tolulene than motor oil. Was hoping they didn't try using paint thinner to get their "Clean" name.

Flashpoint isn't outstanding, but who can argue with iron at less than half of Mobil 1's results and no copper...same engine.

Yes they are the same exact oils. Check out the VOA and you will see that Superflo and Mobil 5000 are identical.

Do a Google search and look up the words:

Superflo, Drive Clean, lawsuit.

Suddenly??? We've been seeing the 2UZ-FE turning in report after report like this for a couple years. In all candor, though, I really don't think this a very good engine in which (or from which) to draw conclusions about oils. It seems to do virtually nothing to any oil its fed. I've tested ours on both M1 and GC and gotten similar results for the mileages involved (longer). You could probably feed it 6.5 quarts of olive oil and get similar UOA readings.

Oh, come on. It looks to me like it's being pretty well given the credit it's due. I can't argue with the wear results, but that said, it really is only meant to be used for the advertised limit. Using this product, I'd be changing oil almost every month (more if in both vehicles). Good oil, not for me though.

OK, maybe this oil is suffering some undue prejudice as a result of its "lowly" dino origin. If this were GC or Redline, we'd be describing the fine aroma in positive terms (i.e. like "Gummy Bears") instead of with harsh, unappealing chemical names. . .

And whoa on the iron -- it's not less than half. The last M1 report showed 0.66ppm/1k miles, whereas the DC5K got 0.44ppm/1k -- lower for sure, but by a pretty thin margin.

No, everyone's trying not be smart ***es, but somehow, I don't feel as inhibited. This oil was advertised for 5k and shows it has about 5k worth of endurance. The MC7500 is advertised for 7500 miles, I'm guessing -- oh, about 7500 miles. . .

Seriously, though, I do wonder. This 5k oil looks good for about 5k in what must be the most oil-friendly engine known to mankind. I wonder if the results might be less favorable in, say, a 1999 Sienna or Avalon with the infamous sludgemaker, or even a more middle of the road engine (perhaps a recent vintage GM 60-degree V-6)?

So, OT, but how's that G of yours doing? Interesting timing that you just resurfaced. Believe it or not, I just FedEx-ed my G's latest oil sample to Blackstone today. Stay tuned.
