Mobil 1 "Advanced Clean" 5w-30

That is true. I'm going to ask him out of curiosity if his experience in NASCAR and oil analysis show a correlation with engine wear. I'm curious why he thinks such small differences in wear are significant.
I asked him in one vid how he figured Napa Synthetic was better than the others only based on wear. His answer was “Because that’s the only data we have.” I then asked “What about all the other important things oils have to do?” Answer was “I’m assuming since all the tested oils are Dexos approved they’re equal.” Of course we know some oils surpass minimum standards…..

And what have you gotten out of all of that spent money? Most of the time and for most people UOA are mostly useless.

Coolant leaks are one thing they can be a help. However, if you’re looking at your coolant recovery bottle then you can detect a leak that way as well.

The most egregious use of them however, is when people come on and say that one oil is better than other due to the spectrographic analysis. This is the major waste of money.

I used to run oil analyses back in college for our fluid power and mechanical engineering departments. Water contamination (back then a Karl Fischer analysis) was probably the most useful portion of the analysis. But spectrographic analyses rarely showed much of interest unless it was some specific element that was part of a unique component. But it was never, ever used to try and distinguish relative oil quality. You’re not on the same planet.
I gained nothing. Numbers look exactly the same on all oil brands. Now I don't care. I'll keep running Mobil 1 and Pennzoil and sleep like a log

I truly believe EP would hang with SS under normal test conditions. But as conditions approach severe and go beyond minimum standards is where the boutiques start to shine. Many of my friends ask if boutiques are really better. My answer is always, “The real question is do you need better?”
In 5,000 Mi oci I doubt the differences is significant. For me to justify HPL, I have to run it for 15,000 miles. Because the cost is three times lol.
But hpl is legit. I'm not a specialist, but have you seen the pour point on that thing? It's crazy, I have not seen any other oil like that. -81 dsgrees

Fourth of July sale coming up!

Funny, but every Mobil 1 oil I've used with any amount of PAO in it has kept my engines sparkling clean. So in my mind, it is strictly a marketing issue. Good on Valvoline.

Out of curiosity, does Valvoline R&P contain any PAO? If not, what is in it that is doing all the cleaning?

I'm currently running Mobil 1 EP 0w20 in my Jeeps and it is still showing, IIRC less than or equal to 30% PAO, which is down from its older formulation, but still substantial, in my estimation.
It's not marketing and not everyone out there is someone that reads oil forums. Lot of people that just buy and drive a vehicle. Or work them really hard and sell them to someone who wants to clean it up. Most wait till the computer tells them to change then gets around to it when they find the time.

Truck & SUV does better than EP. I assume it beats AFE too. Like I said before, from Lake's video, now I take labels on Mobil jugs very seriously. AFE and Truck & SUV both have a viscosity of 8.2, I assume Truck & SUV loses viscosity less under heat and stress compared to AFE that makes no less oil breakdown claims.

See, no claims related to oil breakdown

I think even the triple action is saying it keeps engines clean as I have experienced and Tig has for sure …
VRP is a different kind of claim - good/bad/indifferent …

There are some cool folks here on this board, don't get me wrong. But wish a guy like Lake Speed was here who could do tests and show us. Not just talks. It's amazing how he single-handedly silenced all the Truck & SUV skeptics
He at least reads the board. He lurks for sure. He has made Youtube comments about how he's not liked here haha.
