Ive used mmo per instructions seem to be getting about 3% less mpg over about 2K miles so far in my G35. Anyone else track fuel economy and additives?
MMO fuel economy changes noticed?

mmo is good stuff lubes the upper cylinder walls and a whole lot more as for gas mileage i guess if added to oil it would increase mpg's by a slight amount because it would thin out the oil and thin oil gets better mpg's (may not notice it may be small)
I have used mmo forever and noticed it work a nummber of times..
Last winter a friend bought an old chrysler with a 318 which had a loud lifter noise LOUD we changed the oil used pennzoil 10w30 and 1 quart of mmo then we started the engine and poured a little through the carb after warming up the engine and immediatly the lifter tick stopped and it ran quiet ever since..

I've always used MMO as a top-cylinder lube primarily. Being somewhat of a fuel stabilizer and a system cleaner were additional benefits as well as a slight increase in mpg.

What size engine? I've been able to get mpgs to drop by OD'ing the MMO in the gas. You might want to try reducing the amount. In some 4 cyl engines the 4 oz /10 gallon dose was a little to strong. Try 3 oz/10 gallons for a while. If that doesn't work you can try some TCW3, the suggested rate for that is 1 oz/ 5 gallons of gas.
Also keep in mind that we have been running winter blend gas for a while. At least I have, and took a mpg hit across the board. I always do this time of year. EFI richens up the mix when it is cold, and keeps it that way for a while, also people tend to idle a little longer this time of the year. Something to consider.

I played with MMO at various dosing rates back in 2006 or so. I found that going too high of a rate started to really hit fuel economy.
Play with the dose rates, and see what happens. Though some have had good success with MMO and emissions equipment, I wouldnt trust long-term OD with 900ppm P.
Give it some tinkering to see what you get. This is one of the benefits to FP60, OD does not show up in UOA or seem to hurt MPGs badly.

Sorry, bur neither of this is your gas is going to make any difference. Not sure way this keeps coming up?
I just started using MMO and am on my third tank wilth it. I don't add it to my oil, just the gas tank. I have noticed a half mile per gallon increase, and I expect it may get better than that over time. I am not using it primarily to increase MPG, since I have learned about its UCL properties and how well it lubes and helps the fuel system. I have noticed an increase in power too. I'll keep using it in the tank to help my truck run better and help the fuel system last longer. Any MPG increase will be a welcome bonus.

I've used both. In fact I have an E-150 with dual tanks and added MMO to one and TCW3 to the other for about a month. I didn't notice any difference but I can tell you when no UCL is in the van. The idle is smoother with a UCL.
I've been using MMO for so long now it is a habit, and I keep going back to it. I still have it in metal cans that I paid $2 a qt for, LOL.
I won't try and sway someone who uses TCW3 away from it, there are benefits to any good UCL. IMO if they increase ethanol content anymore in gas it will be of even more benefit.
I think MMO has more ability to clean, and keep carbon soft, than TCW3 which is why I keep going back to it. Experiment for yourself and see what works best for you. Just remember it will be easier to foul plugs with TCW3 than MMO. Use only 1 oz/5 gallons with TCW3.

FWIW, my company gave me a 2002 Saturn SL2 to teach drivers education in. It now has 203,000 miles (had 194,000 when I got it in July).
As you can imagine, the 203,000 miles are very hard worn in miles. Kids jamming on the brakes HARD, gunning the gas, going up curbs, putting it into park while moving 5mph... The car is just worn but strangely continues to keep ticking. Of course, Ive replaced the common ECTS, TPS, and find myself putting topping off the oil frequently due to the known oil burning status of the engine.
I started putting MMO in the gas (2-4oz. each fillup) around August. I bought some on sale at Meijer (BOGO, IIRC) and had no other use for it. So I started adding MMO probably right around the 195-196,000 mile mark.
The car already gets 30-34mpg but after using the MMO, Ive seen as high as 36mpg. Thats mixed driving, with students driving. I noticed a smoother engine right away - a little quieter (the upper end is pretty noisy anyways) and smoother acceleration - not faster or quicker by any means - but smoother.
I havent thought to put it into my Envoy or my L300 (yet), but I might give it a shot, nothing to lose. I have had nothing but positive results with the SL2.

Dieseldoctor - Maybe the advent of winter is the reasons for your fuel economy drop. Low temps use more fuel for a bunch of reasons, and winter blend fuel is questionable.
Better fuel economy with MMO is a perk. Nice if you get a bit.

I never had much faith in miracle-cure-in-a-bottle additives, with the exception of running Regane every 5000 miles I did not use them at all. I still use Regane at 5000 miles for a good strong fuel injection/fuel system cleaner. I researched and read everything I could find and I thought the same thing, that all the people posting good results with MMO can't be lying or experiencing psychological benefits from MMO.
My truck is running better with MMO, has better power and a smooth idle. I may even add a pint when I get to the last 1000 miles on my current OCI, if for no other reason than to clean inside the crankcase. I would like to see if MMO helps my engine run any better in the oil. I follow a strict 3000 mile OCI but using a dose of MMO may offer even more improvement. I don't plan to keep continuously substituting a quart of MMO for a quart of oil, but it surely can't hurt anything as a cleaning agent. My truck has almost 122K on the clock, I have owned it since 42K and as far as I know it has never had any oil additives of any kind. I have always used Valvoine or Napa (re-branded Valvoline) 10W30 which I know is a good oil. I bet MMO can do some good cleaning and lube in places the Valvoline can't, though.

Good plan Jimmy. There are people who add MMO to the oil every OCI. I don't think its needed, a pint for the last 1000 miles of the OCI will start the cleaning, then if you like run a qt for a full OCI. See how things go for you after that. A lot of people notice better cold starts, and a smoother idle when they add the qt, especially during winter. If I add a full qt I usually do it during the winter months. Since you're in Florida cold staring is a non-issue. Keep us posted.
No im aware of the winter mix decrease in fe.. ive used the product for about 6 months 3K miles and noticed it even back in summer time. I watched 5th gear and they showed 2-5% drop as well from popular fuel treatments just curious if anyone else has noticed it. Im just curious as to if the logic pans out if mmo or tw-3 actually lubricates anything assuming it isnt burned off if the product is in liquid form washing on the sides of the cylinder looks to me like u'd have piston scuffing going on? the G35 has some coating on the pistons anyhow just curious... and btw all G35's have the 3.5L engine they're like 3-4 different versions i have the 298hp one
