This is off my daughter’s 2008 Honda Civic with 125,289 miles with 6,194 miles on the filter. Oil used was Quaker State Full Synthetic High Mileage 5w30.

Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20 & a CQP 84356 oil filter went back on. Everything looks good. Base gasket and anit-drain valve were pliable. Lots of gunk in the bottom of the filter can, so I guess the filter was doing its job.

Like most oil filters the center tube holes should stop before they get partially or fully covered in glue.

Well made!

Please remind me; what's the claimed efficiency on these?
Simply c&p from O'Reilly's site on this filter. Who knows to be sure since they don't reference any filter tested.

MG MSL, nice filters for $10 off the O'R shelf. And an even better value than the new M1 off the Walmart shelf. Being frugal, likely still choose the CQ Premium with AAP 15% off code, but doesn't take away construction quality of the MG MSL. Top notch.

Thanks for c&p. Nice clear pics, well done.

The PGI filters use good robust potting material, it's not going anywhere. Oil flow dP isn't high enough to make it come off, and the dP across the holes is basically zero since most of the dP has already dropped across the media, so there is basically no force on the glue. That glue sticks very well and is even hard to chip off with a pick.
