Carquest Premium 84356 used oil filter cut open

2008 Honda Civic 1.8L 132K.
Oil and filter in service for 6,438 miles. OLM 15%
Out/off: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-20 and this filter.
In/on: Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 and another CQP 84356 made in Vietnam filter.

This was the first run of Valvoline Restore and Protect. Filter looks good. There are a few pieces of carbon but nothing too bad. I don’t remember adding any oil during this interval but it looked to be about half a quart low when my daughter brought the car over for the oil change.

I think these Oil Filters are rated for 10,000 miles. This will be my oil filter after I use up my other oil filters!

Too much glue

That's a true statement
I opened up a $3.75 4612 prime Guard yesterday and not a spot of glue period
take the Denso made Mitsubishi filters which are designed modular like and don't rely on glue for the most part
I have been using PGs far longer than most here and I am a fan, but glue is not a plus

Yeah, I purposely took a picture of the glue. I think that’s the most glue I’ve seen on a CQP that I’ve cut open.

PGI filters use a very robust glue, unlike the junk glue found in M+H made Motorcraft filters. Some excess is better than not enough.

Glue on this one significantly better than the made in China 84356 I recently c&p. In my observation these are good filters.
