One of our work RAM 1500's, I was asked for tire selection advice, and so this is what was purchased. Truck is a 2014 RAM 1500 Laramie with the factory 20" wheels. He's currently on a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3's. Truck is 100% driven on-road, mostly highway.

Do they still have the white lettering on them? The ones we have on our Ford Econoline are from 2007 and the ones on our Jeep are from 2010 both have white letters on them. We usually don’t like tires without white walls or letters.

?? Are you asking for our approval AFTER the purchase?

The LTX are a good compromise AT-hwy tire, sort of splitting the difference between these two types, so better hwy than AT3, better ice traction than AT3 but worse loose pack snow or offroad than AT3.

No part of the OP was a question/inquiry, it was a share. I've owned three sets of LTX's personally, and plenty more if we include immediate family. I've always had excellent performance from them and as you note, their performance on ice, which is important, since this guy doesn't run dedicated snows, will be markedly better. This mirrors my experience with this tire's predecessor, the LTX M/S2 that was the last set we had on our Expedition before we sold it.

Let us know how they wear. I can't get 20,000 miles out of any 20 inch tire on my explorer to the point I'm getting some 18 inch rims to be done with them.

They should give good service, as long as they are maintained well. My 2020 F-150 came with LTX M/S 2s, in 275/55/20. So far, they are performing well.
