2 choices for diesels?

-Dodge RAM Cummins
-Ford F-series powerstroke
-GM Duramax equipped pickup
-Ford van with powerstroke (???)
-Chevy van with duramax (???)
-VW golf TDI
-VW Jetta TDI
-VW Passat TDI
-MB E320CDI
-Dodge Sprinter Passenger van
-Jeep Liberty Diesel

I think thats it. Is it enough diesel offerings? NO WAY!!! I hope to see a LOT more... I wish they had the saab 9-3 diesel here... that car gets great mileage and is a wonderful car to drive.

I look to VW to get more here... I wish that MB would go back to the good old days when you could get a 62hp w123 240D with 4sp manual trans, manual climate control, manual sunroof and wheeel covers... and get close to 40 MPG. Id pay $30-35k for a basic MB diesel car with plastic wheelcovers, a manual trans, AC and a cd player. Ive seen cheapo MBs in Canada, too bad we cant get them here.

ULSD will solve a lot of issues... the idiots who make up the buying public need to do the rest. Unfortunately the small pocket of dieselers in the US arent enough to get a lot of offerings here

We only have 2 diesel car choices in the U.S. 3 if you include the Liberty.

1 - VW
2 - MB
3 - Chrysler (I mean DiamlerChrysler see # 2 above)

I am talking family cars in the U.S. Grocery Git'rs, not farm trucks, delivery vans or tow trucks. You kinda loose the diesel benifit when you need to get a 250/2500 or heaiver truck in order to get a diesel. Although when we bought the Quest, we DID consider a Sprinter!!!

It would be GREAT to have Toyota and Honda diesels over here!

Is the DuraMax still the Isuzu diesel?

Im leary of honda diesels... Im sure theyd be great cars, but if theyre like every other honda product Ive had to deal with, after 6-10 years, EVERY rubber part will need to be replaced because it is of poor quality.

The cars are great, the rubber parts are not.

But Im sure it gets close to 50 mpg (I didnt check the link), and if so, Im there...
