You can't prove or make a point with one case. You need statistics and you need to be honest with the statistics. And then debate the statistics.

All this opinion masquerading as fact is the major problem with how everything gets discussed, voted and implemented in this country.

And I suppose you can prove that with numbers and supporting analysis?

There isn't one credible health economist, regardless of any insult to them that they are left wing or right wing, who would tell you that is the reason US healthcare is twice the price of the rest of the developed world.

That's the same as the US being the "foodbowl of the world"...jingoistic rhetoric, that can be followed by yelling "touchdown"

You'd need a book to list accomplishments coming out of here. We see this "we're a real country too" stuff all the time. In reality how many countries exceed the capability in tech and gdp of a couple of our bigger states? Yes China makes all the rubber dog [censored] anyone could ever want. And they're not free.

You should have more respect. Did I remember that you want to come here and work on a hb1 or something?

I agree with the OP. We are fortunate bc our MD's are located at a Major Medical Center Teaching Hospital. The Docs we always see are interns. The good news about this system is they are very regimented on insuring you are up to date on your shots etc.

They take extreme time with you. When they are done they discuss (every time) how you presented and their recommendations to a senior Doc. Many times they will come back with a modified treatment plan. Consistency is paramount.

Both me and the wife have been happy in the 40+ years we have been seeing them.

I didn't produce the movie Sicko,
so my misguided perception is not
my fault.

And my hobby is not bashing Americans.
It's their country to run as they see fit.

The fact is, anytime there is a natural disaster
anywhere in the world, Americans are usually
the first on the scene and the last to leave.

My original post had ZERO to do with the ACA.... Period. My thoughts were to help people realize when circumstances get out of hand and what to do. Ask questions. And I wanted people to know what to pay attention to after surgery.
That being all stated and on the record. I am not a fan of the ACA.

Me too.

bbhero;
I think you may have started a grass fire on a windy
day with this thread.
It's the nurses' job to do the forensic work so the
doctors can come along and play hero.

I think I'll just continue to do what I've always done. Keep myself healthy and stay out of hospitals; neither my wife nor I have ever been in one except to visit others.

A fair amount of truth to all of what you stated

And if a doctor pays no mind... Can be very bad. Or at times if the RN doesn't follow the MDs orders correctly.. Bad things happen there too. And if pharmacy misses the ball bad things happen there too.
