McDonalds Coffee

One thing about McDonalds is that they are fanatical about getting things to taste good. That is why (IMHO) yheir coffee is so good.

Ad I realize there are lots of folks that hate on McDonalds food. But (for me)..for what it is (fast food joint) their stuff is Dam good. Especially their fries and I love their sausage/egg breakfast burritos

We buy whole bean and grind ourselves.
For years we bought Gold Coffee Company Reserve but the price REALLY started to go up and well, all I can say after years of liking this coffee I cheaped out once it hit now over $10. a pound. I wont say that I will never buy it again but we found something that makes us just as happy after struggling for a while of tasting other coffees. The price increase over the years has been massive. It was going up with every order. Just rubbing me the wrong way on how much it has gone up/every order.
Not that I know anything about coffee except my wife and I taste is similar.
We love a STRONG brew (me even more strong) I liken it to Starbucks strong but its been YEARS since I have bought a Starbucks coffee, ex. when my brother is here, he adds water to our coffee, like one quarter + of water.

Anyway, just two months ago stumbled onto Costco "Costa Rica" whole beans. 6lbs for $37.99 is a good price @ 6.33 lb at Costco.com You need to buy in 6 lb quantities online. The low price and good taste and well, I look at it as an inflation fighter equal to Gold Coffee Company previous love. I wont say that this coffee is the end all of all good things. I still look to the above Gold Coffee as the standard. But this below has made the price of the Gold hard to swallow. (maybe) time will tell. Just finished up 6 lbs of it and now on the next new order of 6lbs. So far so good.
Kirkland coffee is a very good deal. At least up until recently Starbucks roasted the coffee for Costco, but now it appears they may be one of several. Either way there are good roasters out there and Kirkland is great coffee for the price.

As far as fast-food coffee goes, I agree with others that say McDonalds is the best of them.

Oh boy! Good choice if you don't want greasy breakfast sandwiches and 2 of them can keep you stuffed for a while! I really love them especially on road trip. Steak muffin the second.

If your ONE years old you’re expected to live to 73

If you live to 55 your life expectancy is 79
If you live to 62 your life expectancy is 81
If you live to 70, your life expectancy is 83
If you’re still alive at 75 you’re expected to live past 85

These are probably the most accurate numbers in the history of mankind for Americans🙃 it’s a fascinating table if you really think about it
https://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/table4c6.html
And don’t forget, when they say your life expectancy is 81, they mean 1/2 of your cohorts who were alive at 62 will be dead by the time you reach 81, and so on.

Yeah, kind of sucks doesn’t it? 🧐
This is what you would call the case of diminishing returns!! 🤣

Approximately 25% of the population does not make it from birth to 65 years old
and about 50% of the remaining population dies by the age of 82

However, with that said demographics will come into play where certain groups will experience a disproportionally higher death rate while other groups will be experience a respectively lower death rate.

It might help to be one of those survivors by not eating junk food, not smoking, not drinking excessively, plenty of fruits and vegetables, exercise and not be overweight.
No guarantees, but it’s got to help!!!

For the price it can't be much better if at all (gas station only for that price to be honest). I would say a franchised coffee chain is still slightly better but at 3x the cost, they are not 3x better, maybe 50% better if I am being subjective.

If I travel by car, there is probably a bag with already ground coffee, my electric kettle and my French press :)
There are situations when it is more efficient to spend some money to get things done. I like to travel light and move fast without having to wait for coffee. Imagine waking up 15 mins early to boil water for coffee indoor then drink coffee and wash the French press, you could be getting coffee at the airport while waiting to board.

Or, rent strollers and car seats at travel destination instead of carrying them on a road trip / flying. Sometimes that helps you reduce the worst case vehicle size you need to buy or rent, and you will save the gas money as a whole.

I'm not a fan of hot coffee but I'm a huge fan of iced coffee and McDonald's is my favorite there, especially in the summer months when it's only a dollar here :)

Two sausage and egg burritos won’t keep you stuffed for all that long. The power move is to add in a McMuffin and hash browns.

I can't afford to give up that much space in a roll-aboard. Not an option for me.

So, I am either making it in the hotel room (great variation in quality there), or I am buying it in nearby. I don't eat fast food, either, but finding a decent coffee often requires a chain, whether that be a Starbucks, Peet's, or a Costa.
Many of your peers are now toating three bags. I sense a bean grinder, French press, and a lbs of whole beans can find a home in one of these three bags.
