Mazda CX-5 2.5L NA Engine

Has a very tiny oil filter.
Smallest oil filter I've seen over the years.

What's up with that? Just curious.

Free dealer oil changes are over and baby is going off milk (0W-20) ...
Beef. It's what's for dinner. :ROFLMAO:

Thank you!

Just because this makes it fun. Here was the label on the carton we received when doing a stock order last week

Are you looking for opinions or advice for an alternative size filter to use for your particular engine?

A case of 1120 filters?
Is the weight of "230" expressed in lbs. or kg?
If in lbs., each unit weighs 3.28 oz., 7.23 oz. each if in kg.
That would be like a master pack. That was what our volume order came in. I have 610 1WPE, and I think 200 1WPY oil filters and then a bunch of air and cabin filters, spark plugs, and wipers. The 10 filter boxes are really nice. 6 1 quart bottles fit in them perfectly.

If it's proven to be better or much more effective, why not. but I don't want to risk it either or compromise the quality.

When I was getting the last free oil change, I bought a filter from the dealer to give me enough time to research and decide.
This dealer charges $18.51 for the filter which sounded kind of pricey but I haven't looked around yet.

Your particular oil filter equates to the FRAM sizing number system of #6607. You can upsize to the #7317 as mentioned above by others. If upsizing an oil filter in you case, the difference will probably be little as both #6607 & #7317 are both small. The #7317 is a bit longer and I too have used it in place of the smaller #6607.

Because several of my vehicles currently have or had your particular oil filter in their respective brands, I have used the larger part# when possible if it'll fit without issues. I will list your oil filter part# along with the slightly larger part# in several brands should you want to upsize.

If shopping at Wal*Mart, their SuperTech oil filters typically use the FRAM part# system and are very decent filter especially for the price. I try to use GOOD filters that are easily available to me so unfortunately, I don't have the STP, BOSCH, WIX/NAPA or other number system. However, I hope this helps.

FRAM: #6607.........Upsize: #7317
Purolator: #14612....#14610
CarQuest: #85358.....#84356
Mobil 1 #M1-108A....#M1-110A
K & N: HP1008..........SAME
MotorCraft: #FL816...SAME

I'm sure that there are even larger part#'s available but, I just don't know those part#'s.

I should ask you what spark plug goes in my two Mazdas. Not available ANYWHERE except Mazda. Both cars in my sig have cylinder deactivation (VIN code 'M'.) Don't need them yet, but will eventually. Can't find the proper NGK, Denso, etc in aftermarket.

Aren’t the spark plugs part # listed on the emissions sticker that is under the hood/bonnet?

Rockauto thinks all of these fit. Recommend the Ruthenium plugs.
