2020 Mazda CX-5, 2.5 Skyactive G (non turbo). Looking at using the oversize 7317 filter in place of 6607, any clearance issues? or functional issues?
I see many run the Mazda filter and won't stray from OEM.

Would like to do this due to already having the longer filter on hand for my Honda's.

Also may run Amsoil 5w-30 sig. series instead of the 0w-20. Does this engine even care, or favor one brand or weight?

I plan on 1 yr/ 7500 mile service intervals. Mixed driving conditions.

Engine has 61,000 miles.

I use the 7317 on any 6607 application. Same diameter and bypass settings, just longer.
So long as you have the clearance, not an issue IMO.
Just gives you a little more filter media and a touch more capacity.

Many run OEM like myself because fram lists a filter that happens to fit but Mazda redid the filter just for the sky active even though the non skyactive filter will also fit. Wix did the same thing. There has to be a difference that Mazda wanted.
I've run 0w20 and 5w30. Never noticed any difference between.
