I was wondering who makes Mazda oil filters..particularly the ones for that fit the Mazda 3 and if they are good quality filters??

I have three different brands of the cartridge for the Speed3 and I swear I cannot see a dimes worth of difference among them. My guess is that these were all made in the same plant.

So they are made by the same company that makes the Motorcraft?

The MC cartridge is what I use in the Fusion which is the same as the Mazda cartridge. Also if anyone needs the cap wrench for the filter, O'Reilly's can get them for less than $10.

I've used MC, Mazda, Purolator, Fram cartridges on my Mazda 3. They ALL worked well.
I'd say used whatever one you want. Right now I'm running a purolator classic with 4.5 quarts of AAP full synthetic 5w20 for its winter fill. Smooth as silk.
