Maybe reconsider using M+H filters

I don't think that the lesser efficiency is going to harm the engine. I'm not that anal about oil filters. But the efficiency that they are advertising is not what the data they provide(d) supports.

That is the last spreadsheet that I can find for the ONE line. 99% at 30 microns. 30 > 20. 20 = LIE. If the data actually supports 20 microns now, we will never know because they won't provide it upon request.

I don't do business with companies that pull this kind of stuff and I know that others here do not as well. Thus the post.
Not necessarily a lie. If you wrote to the office staff like I did, they don’t know anything. They sent out these spec sheets. It isn’t known what these sheets are. Like if it was in a court they would want evidence those sheets are from the current production oil filters, not development sheets or other. I still think the 99+%@25 microns is correct for the Boss and 20 microns for the One, because someone in the factory tested them on our USA equipment and got those numbers regardless of spec sheets from Germany found in a filing cabinet.
I did my own light spot observations on old Mann media which was exactly like the Boss. That’s where they got the Boss material from. Like looking at a sky full of stars, so many light spots. Now I see WCW pics and the Boss material is much improved. I don’t say things for no reason.

The M+H pres made Purolator update the efficiency spec on the Purolator website. You think they would have done that if M+H was "wrong" and didn't verify that the Boss PBL30001 was actually 99% >46u as the Spec Sheet shows before they made Purolator update the website? Maybe they changed it because the janitor at the factory or the gal on the tech line phone told them to. 🙃

I used and recommended Wix for over 20 years. I know it’s a hard pill to swallow but eventually you have to give up the ghost…
I’ve got some M+H wix Napa gold from 2022 (made in USA). You think they’re the last of their decent build quality?

Unfortunately things started going bad for Wix around 2015ish. At least that’s around when I pulled the plug.

This came from another thread but I thought that it might work better as its own. I just reached out to Mann+Hummel to see if they had any updated ISO filtration efficiency test results for Purolator filters:

"Hello,

Can you please provide me with the most recent ISO filtration efficiency test results or specification sheets for your Purolator line of oil filters (Purolator, PurolatorONE, PurolatorBOSS, Purolator 20K)?

Thank you."

And this is what I got back

"No sir, we cannot. The only information available is what is listed on our website. www.purolatornow.com

Thank you,

Mann+Hummel Product Information

Product Information (800) 526-4250)"

So that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I will be avoiding any M+H filters for a while.
I received exact same answer in email.

Not a chance I’d use one. Premium guard, Prime Guard or Donaldson or OG ULTRA.
