Maintenance stickers. How do you keep track of your maintenance?

Last time I changed the air filter on my truck i wrote down the date and mileage on the airbox with a white paint marker. I have a feeling thats not going to ever come off, so what are your methods for keeping track? Maybe just a spiral notebook? The issue is not everything I own allows me to just place a sticker in the windshield. Like today I changed the air filter and coolant on the Kubota. I dont know of anywhere to write down the date and hours on a tractor. A little maintenance sticker isnt going to stay

I use the Notes app on my phone. I used to use an index card in the visor.

That’s what I do but I do write the date/mileage on my filters with a Sharpie.

I also keep a list (on the same spreadsheet) of how often maintenance should be done, (eg Brake Fluid - every 3 years) and when that item is due next (eg summer 2026)

Take pictures of oil and filter used and the mileage on the odometer. Reset the trip B mileage. Make manual entries into Honda's My Garage and Carfax with notes including oil and filters used and any other checks or service performed at the same time. Also, the upcoming OCI will hit +/- 100 miles of 10k on the odometer with 5k planned OCIs going forward.

Other than that, I tell my wife to remember the mileage. Based on her memory of everything else I've ever done , I would expect she'd remember this, too.

I do Excel and next oil change sticker on windshield.
I keep track of mileage on tires as well where there are two sets per car.

For lawn mowers, generators, ATVs, tractors, etc., I use Notes on my phone.

For the past several years I have been using the Car Care app by CarFax for automotive maintenance. I have mixed feelings about this, but it’s nice how it allows you to store receipts, track gas mileage, etc.

Downside is you are trusting a third party app to keep this data. I was burned once before when I paid for an iPhone app to track service but it stopped working with a new iOS version and was never supported afterwards. For now I have decided to take the risk.

With air filters definitely write the mileage on the filter itself. That way if you're ever getting your car worked on in a shop and they bring "your" filter out, you can verify it's really yours. I draw obscene doodles on my air filters.

I keep a each vehicle list inside the top lid of one of my roll a ways top boxes for every vehicle, toy, etc. when whatever service or repair was last done. List is in the garage where work will begin and will be done or when my old brain gets usually a thought.

Oil/Filter 5's, transmission and tire rotation on 10's, air filters on 30's (Along with spark plugs on the turbo truck). Diffs/transmissionfer cases on the 60's

No need to write down anything.
