AFTER 10yrs GT 52-XLS still going Strong - but - Time 4 Deck Maintenance Pulleys

TRACTOR is Not Cleaned Up in these Photo's as I was just about to do Deck Maintenance ~ THAT ~ I didn't Know
I Needed .. Lost one of Main Idler - Pulley's First for Me as I bought GT Brand New after some slight Damage from stump
in Near-By's Yard I'd been Helping out as Her Husband was very Ill .. & Frankly I needed to have an Official Job to Deduct
Our Moving Expenses - @ - Time I didn't Know was a Thing ..

Her Stump I'd been Over 11 times before but following Spring had a slight Glazing on My Blades - Going Over
But having My Hands Full of New to Us Home with many things needing Attention - I didn't Pay much Attention ..
Came at Stump from slight Different Direction & Bam - Actually Bent Deck ( Tweaked It ) - just would Cut Nice & Even any Longer..

Traded it In Got GT with extra HD Fab Deck - with HD KT-745 - 26hp & K-66 Trans

Just for Little History : Have Cover Off as Installing New Belt - After Installing New Main Idler
NOTE NEW BLACK PULLEY :

I just cutting up in back Yard - all of sudden smell Smoke - as first I thought near-bys were cooking - but quickly Turned to Rubber Smell..
about 18-22 seconds ( Shut Down ) but I had Noticed a sound before hand - I assumed Oil was getting Old & Time for Filter change but only 18rhs ..
So I was cutting thinking what Heck , maybe 4 min. = Pulley starting to Seize some but Not enough to Notice other then slight sound
and I did Hop Off & check deck - nothing Caught in Deck , but was some Hay Bale Twine in Cutters & Wrapped around - that it was it ..

Went back to Cutting less then 40 seconds still had sound - which sounded like Twine again .. OK Enough said I Missed It as there was
No Metallic Sound . .

Good Time to Up Grade - PTO

IN HIND SITE - EVERYONE - ALWAYS CHECK ~ AIR GAP & REMOVE BELT - GET FIRM GRIP ON PULLEY'S
TO CHECK FOR LOOSEN OR SLIGHT WOBBLES .. ( I was still Running Same Belt ) as it was all Good I Guess Twine in Yard )

Old PTO like many of You All - may Not have Air gap for Adjustment - & - Time will just take it out or Bad Main Idler
as Heat will Kill Older PTO in 1 Min. ( Most are Not Rebuild able ) as New Ones are . .

Didn't Help any . .Running Nice Now . . !

I don't Think Enough Folks - give - Kohler 26hp Semi Commercial Kt-745 Credit where credit is Do !
1.5 Acres on less then Gallon of Fuel 825 lb tractor 5.5 Mph so Mowing at 4.2 Mph but Good Ride
Great Towing Ability . . - no oil usage 299 hrs . .

Old PTO had No Air Gap was NOT Rebuild-able . .
I did Not mean to Post this else where Not sure How that Happened

Anyhow - for those that have an Air Gap in PTO - Newer Models & some Zero Turns

Make Sure - You - have - Air Gap set Correctly - Happy Area being .014-.016 on Most PTO's
May want to Lean Toward Higher side on Newer Machine . .
