Magnafine Filter Cut Open

Had this Magnafine Inline Filter on my Power Steering for 9 years.
From: 100,000 .... To: 160,000 miles
It never leaked and I've never had power steering problems.
I put another one on and may never change it again.

Wiped very small amount of dirt off Magnet.

I have used them in the AT. When I opened them up I found almost nothing I could see in the media part and a metal paste on the magnet.

You can use it if you want. Most owners do nothing to remove the old fluid as preventative maintenance. They only change the fluid if the pump or rack fails.
